Ha ha, yeah, live action actors are never as good as their anime/manga counterparts, lol. I found that with the main guy in High School Debut, although mostly because Yoh is my favourite manga character of all time, so it was gonna be hard to match up to him anyway, both in looks and character. I noticed you're watching Cheongdamdong Alice. I'm really enjoying it, i'm up to date with it and I think it's worth continuing. But GirlOfTheEast below is right, it's gripping for the first 8 or so episodes, and then it's not quite as much. Still very much worth watching, just not quite as "oh my god I have to see the next episode" as the first few eps were. Park Shi Hoo is doing a fantastic job with his character.

Lol, yeah, Gaksital and Greatest Love. I was actually surprised at Gaksital because I usually don't like longer dramas, but they did well not to make it drag. Also on your list, Ouran High School Host Club, although I think that's an acquired taste, lol. I loved it, but some people find it too stupid and over the top.

I need to do that too, lol. And I need to rewatch some dramas too. Like Playful Kiss. I actually didn't think it was that bad but then everyone I speak to says it is. So now I'm wondering if I'm remembering it wrong, ha ha. Cuz it was one of my early dramas.

Hey, I liked your review of King of Dramas, it was pretty accurate (at least, you had similar thoughts to what I did, lol). And I noticed you've got some great shows on your On Hold list. No time for them? Also, we have the same birthday :-)

Hi, i noticed your review on the King of Dramas page so came to check out your list, lol. You gave Coffee Prince and Can You Hear My Heart a 10, and i totally agree! But then you also gave Lie To Me a 10! No! Ha ha, how can we be so different and so alike at the same time! :-P
I don't think I'll ever get to watch Big in the next few years--almost everybody says it's a let down! I've seen…
Only 8 episodes of Cheongdamdong Alice have aired so far, but I think it's fantastic. I mean, it can be a bit hit & miss, but the hits definitely outweigh the misses. I'm hoping it stays at this level and doesn't start dragging. It's only 16 episodes, which is good. It's given me a new found love for Park Shi Hoo as well, his character is hilarious.
I tried, tried TRIED to watch FBRS. Nothing could get me to finish it. Totally agree about Wild Romance; it started…
FBRS was hilarious! But i guess I can kind of understand it not being to everyone's taste. One of my friends tried watching Shut Up: Flower Boy Band and couldn't get into that. Now that is something I can't understand, lol
FH2 - First of all I don't even think it was a sequel (nothing to do with each other). I totally loved the first…
I actually got sick of Full House because it just kept repeating itself. It was so annoying. I was glad that FH2 took a different tack, and had a lot more humour in it.
Dream High 2 was terrible! It basically had no plot, and the character's personalities kept changing, and there…
I thought it was stupid that Kang Sora's character (seriously, can't remember her name at all, lol) couldn't sing at all at the beginning but then suddenly could sing well enough to perform on stage. She was practically tone deaf in the beginning!
Dream High 2 was terrible! It basically had no plot, and the character's personalities kept changing, and there were never actually any stakes. Whenever something would happen, they'd be like "this is a big deal" and then... nothing would change and they would go on with their lives. Like, what was the point of anything in the show? Ah, and the acting. JB is a cutie but that's about all he's got going for him. I was sad for Kang Sora, mostly. She is actually fairly talented, so to end up in such a crappy drama was a step back for her.
It's not letting me reply to some comments so i'm writing my own. Regarding the filipino comment, in Smile, basically the only difference between Matsujun and everyone else is that he has darker skin than they do. That's how people can tell that he's not fully Japanese. So i thought that's what Hava was talking about. When i first watched it, i thought to myself as well "what, that's the only difference between Filipino and Japanese?" The show itself doesn't give you much more of a reason than that, to explain why people disregard him.
Anyway... Hana Yori Dango was my first Asian drama, and so that drama, and Matsujun, are always going to have a very special place in my heart. It's definitely my favourite version of HYD.
I don't think Ariel Lin is pretty or beautiful, I think she's cute. Whereas Tiffany Xu could never be cute, but is very beautiful. It's funny how that works. So if i was making a list, i'd end up with 2 separate lists, lol. I definitely agree on the top 3 Koreans, i'm pretty sure I spent most of my Full House-watching time exclaiming "why is she so damn beautiful!?".
I haven't seen any of the dramas mentioned above but I want to mention the second lead of City Hunter (the Prosecutor)…
Yeah, it was a nice change being able to root for both the lead guy and the second lead, without having to pick one over the other. They weren't fighting over the girl, so we didn't have to fight over them. Plus, bromance ftw! :-P

Yoon Kye Sang, definitely. Whenever i think of a second lead, I think of him. I don't know if i ever really wanted Yoon Pil Joo with Goo Ae Jung, but my heart broke when he didn't.
Wow, i agree with everything you said, especially about Vic Zhou being the best Rui. I like Shun Oguri as well, but Vic is just a bit more likable, the way he was always smiling. My favourite version is Hana Yori Dango, and least favourite is BoF because it dragged on for way too long.
