You think the family should've moved Jonghyun into the hurst in a garage? Do you understand how disrespectful you sound, or do you just not care? Google "wake", "funeral", and "memorial", maybe you'll learn something.

Any actual idol fan knows idols essentially give up their career and risk huge push-back from fans if they reveal they're dating, regardless of who it is. I think one of major issues in the original comment is the clear outside perspective, the "let me educate the Koreans" mindset, the "west is best" without any clear experience in the country being discussed.

It might not be ideal or what western people view as best, and obviously the ideal situation is everyone having a happy, successful, fulfilled life. But that will never, ever happen, no matter how much changes. This is the solution that Korea and the Korean government is using, and rolling in and demanding change is never going to work.

I live and work here, and know so many Korean people impacted by the suicides here. Anyone who has been to Korea knows that any foreign idea will never be accepted by Koreans to the same extent that internal change would be. And a foreigner coming in saying "everything about you is wrong" is definitely not the approach that will change anything. The mentality being expressed by this frosty person is the exact thing that would make the situation worse, without question.

Please don't speculate on the sexual orientation of people you don't know. Of course some idols are gay, but you have absolutely no clue who and the idea that anyone can "tell" based on a public persona is absolutely ridiculous and borderline homophobic. You cannot tell if a person you don't know is gay or straight or anything in between unless they say so. Any actual SHINee fan knows what the entire country went through with Jonghyun's death, and would know why families want privacy, and why they aren't screaming from the rooftops about suicide. Hell, at absolutely zero of the many funerals I have attended where the cause of death was suicide, was it EVER shouted during eulogies. It's not shame, it's grief. Did you ever think in your mass hysteria that maybe, just maybe, the companies are conveying the actual wishes of families? Do you seriously think Jonghyun's family wanted to send him away with the flicker of paparazzi cameras?

Essentially Korean age counts the number of years you have existed, not the number of birthdays. She was in her 31st year of life including her birth year of 1992, but would have completed, for lack of a better word, 30 birthdays. That's why everyone in Korea "ages" on the first day of the new year.

Clearly you are clueless to the epidemic that is suicide in Korea. The media honouring this literally saves lives, since most suicides in Korea are youth under the age of 25. In addition to insane school, work, and family pressure, the mentality of "if a celebrity who made it has nothing to live for, why should I keep fighting" is insanely prevalent. Add the pandemic onto that, and the situation is really dire. The government will never funnel money into lowering the suicide rate because it would mean a complete overhaul of the school system, hiring system and capitalism as a whole, plus Korean hierarchical structure all the way down to naming traditions and the continued pressure placed on first born sons to "represent the family well" and for daughters to "marry well". Plus, Korea is capitalist. It doesn't truly matter to the government who lives or dies, as long as the economy and the rich survive. If you've lived in Korea at all, especially during the pandemic, you would know that.

Please do more research before speaking ignorantly about what Korean media should or should not do.

On Netflix this drama is listed as 20 episodes (each about 1hr in length). Was it aired on MBC with more episodes? Or were the 1hr episodes split, and that's why here it says 40 episodes?
