I dont think he's happy about her dying, but more about the fact that he will be free from the in-laws. He first cried on the news, but felt relieved at the thought that he was gonna be able to escape the family, without the bullying of the father-in-law. From his point of view, he's mistreated by the in-laws, his wife doesn't support/defend him from her family. He lives with them, work with and for them. They're both unhappy. They're not intimate anymore and the list goes on. We as the audience, we get to see her from a different perspective (i.e when FL talked to her brother about the way he spoke to the ML) But HE DOESN'T KNOW THAT.
Plus, he would have just let the boar kill her if he really wanted her gone quickly.
