After ep 24, I wish there was an extra episode/time for both of them to calm down before getting together - after all of this great slow burn and build up, it feels like they're getting together while ML is still trying to get over his shock and crisis from the realization....it just doesn't feel like either of them have fully absorbed the information. He just doesn't seem like he can even be 100% happy that FL has accepted him, like his mind is still all over the place.
Even a few more days showing them calming down/interacting more normally after the incident would have been more satisfying to see how they finally get together after getting through this shock together.
It's very unfortunate that the inconsistencies and editing really detract from the quality/professionalism of the drama.
A few examples: - When it was always said and even shown in the WeChat screenshots that JZ never responded to any of JM's texts after the accident aside from telling her he's changing his number, in the episodes after, it was shown in a flashback that JZ actually did respond and asked why she chose her major in Canada. Clearly they had shot other variations of this but the editing team put in scenes that don't match. - It was obvious the scenes at the end were shot before the future reunion scenes, ie. Crazy's hair is pink again when it's supposed to be black.
There were also other scenes where they mention certain things happening that were cut out and never shown, making audiences question whether we missed something or if they forgot to include it.
Many small details like this could have been easily fixed by the production team but it seemed like they were either rushed on time or not detailed/careful enough.
Not the fault of the actors, but it's a shame that the editing inconsistencies brought down the quality of the drama.
Why did ML not contact FL even after he opened the cafe and bought the house....even when she was trying to find him through the parents he still got them to lie. She was trying all these years to find him so he really has no excuse even if he says that he was waiting for her to find him on her own terms. And then he has the nerve to say he was going to contact her after he got settled. Seems like he gave up. So frustrating
Is it just me or ML has a scar line under his eye after the first few eps? It's extremely noticeable in ep 20 when he's in the hospital. Wonder if something happened during filming.
Good first half of the drama, then it starts falling off the last couple episodes. Great acting by FL but couldn't feel the chemistry between the main leads - would have just preferred there to be no romance. It felt forced and could not be convinced that FL felt any romantic attraction to ML at all. Still a decent watch for the quick way the revenge was carried out
After watching 20 eps now, I'd say this drama is good enough to pass time and watchable, but it has no depth at…
Agreed, felt like FL's mind changed really suddenly. If there were more scenes of the FL developing feelings/showing how she slowly progressed to realize her feelings and see ML in a different light, it would have given viewers more time to get used to them being together. Watching them suddenly start dating almost feels a bit like whiplash, having to adjust in your mind the extreme dynamic shift.
Honestly a great watch! Refreshing plotline, generally no dragging, one of the most satisfying revenge dramas for sure. Great acting from Li Qin, and impressed by Chen Zhe Yuan - you can tell he put in a lot of effort training for the fight scenes. This was a different type of role for him and he has a lot of potential. Has become one of the top dramas in my list. Memorable and definitely recommend.
TLOZH is better than JOL. All Zang Hai big 3 enemies died. He was able to revenge his family's death. It doesn't…
No one said you can’t have an opinion. The issue was you spoiling major plot points without a tag, then turning around and accusing people of having hidden agendas just for disagreeing.
I’m not a JOL stan. I gave one spoiler-free opinion to a question, and you spiraled into rants about YouTube thumbnails and conspiracies that have nothing to do with me. You’re taking out your frustration on the wrong people because you can’t handle others preferring a different show.
The irony of you telling people to “get a life” after digging through old ratings, editing your own comments to backpedal, and linking vids trying to convince ppl to watch is cringe.
None of what you’re saying makes sense. The only thing being called out is your refusal to follow basic spoiler etiquette and take responsibility.
The world doesn’t revolve around JOL and it definitely doesn’t revolve around TLOZH either.

You're so deep into this parasocial spiral that you think anyone who prefers another drama must be out to attack XZ. That is delusional.
Digging through my ratings from 6 years ago to try to prove some imagined point is pathetic. People are allowed to prefer one drama over another without having some hidden agenda. That’s not dragging anything down, that’s called having an opinion.
The fact that you edited your original comment to add spoiler tags shows you knew you were in the wrong. You're unhappy about being called out, so you’re deflecting and accusing random people of teaming up against you.
This is textbook behavior from someone who can’t reflect, can’t take accountability, and can’t handle being wrong. You are embarrassing yourself and making other XZ fans look bad by association.
I hope you find some perspective and realize there’s a difference between standing up for what you like and being hostile to anyone who thinks differently.

This kind of behavior is exactly why Xiao Zhan fans get a bad rep, because stans like you think community rules don’t apply to them.

OP asked a simple question about Joy of Life, and I gave a spoiler-free opinion that didn’t reveal any plotlines.
People compare dramas all the time. If hearing another title makes you purposely ruin the experience for new viewers just to make a point, you need to check yourself.
Only on second ep but FL is getting on my nerves - it was her fault to arrest him without investigating clearly and she hasn't ever apologized to him yet tries to bully him at work when he shows up. She says he doesn't take responsibility for his action but neither does she.
When the whole point was to destroy the gui seal at the end but they still didn't destroy it lol........feels like a cheap out as an excuse for second season but really unsatisfying because of it
Definitely did not expect this drama to rise to the top of my drama rankings - honestly really refreshing story the way the Qiao family admits to their fault betraying the Weis from the very beginning. Love that there wasn't some kind of big miscommunication between the 2 families
