It isn't that there's a misconception but oftentimes bubbly roles are foolish characters- bonus if there's a huge character development- and fans wouldn't want them to act in bubbly characters again in fear of ending up as a joke. Also, they are liulang and bad scripts or illogical scripts (sad to say, but ZLS's MC scripts are almost always either illogical or bad, I've yet to see one where you don't have to put your brain on the shelf- it's undeniable) will make the fans boycott their work. That's how it's always been in China.
