I live in South Africa and the process here is totally different.
You would have to get a verbal warning first, then a second warning and I think in writing. Then a final warning and then the matter gets referred to a disciplinary hearing.
Its not that easy to fire people here and the onus is on the employer to show that they tried absolutely everything in their power to ensure the employee indeed does not have the capacity to do the job.
Someone needs to sit us down and explain these labour laws to us because what do you mean you can just be fired on the roof top and be left without your work ID?
