To everyone’s dismay the FL’s father is getting his redemption arc sooner than later. I have a feeling we’ll see a lot more of him in the next few episodes.
The epilogue in ep 10 made me cry. It feels like just a glimpse of CSE full backstory. They may expand on it a little more because there are still six more episodes.
Melodramas: someone is cutting onions in the corner next to the watchers and the actors.
The actors warned us that it would be sad. I should've taken the melodrama tag more seriously. People who don't end up crying the whole episode, and have to re-watch it because they couldn't see through their tears. The complete 180 switch from the stone clod DHS to the crybaby DHS was refreshing and heartbreaking (mostly heartbreaking)
All the pieces are falling into place. Only one family will be allowed to survive. The Do siblings will be redeemed ( or at least DHS will be), and the Baek family will be dragged through the mud.
Well that was an emotional roller coaster (I cried so much), but they somehow managed to wrap up the whole "does he really love her" plot in a single episode. We got some clearance on the relationship; I can see a glimmer of hope revealing a happy ending ahead of us.
There will be more twist as the secrets of Baek family continue to unravel. I knew that I liked the mom. She may be crazy but she genuinely cares for her child. The dad always put on a fake smile around other people. He's probably gonna manipulate his son till the very end.
Theory: DHS will follow his father's path to catch the accomplice. CJW will catch him and think that he is a killer. More tear jerking moments will happen, but they will eventually make up when all the truths are revealed.
That break up scene was the most confusing scene of the drama. My inner thoughts: "Do you love him?" "You do love him but you can't tell him why you have doubts in the relationship." "Are those tears angry tears or sad tears?" "Did they finish washing the dishes?" But everything was meaningless because she went right back to him when she noticed that she missed how he made her feel (but he unknowingly made her feel sad). I want her to fall in love with the real him, and teach him how to access his emotions that are faintly shinning through.
The writer definitely switched the archetype of the ML and FL. The ML runs around like a typical drama heroine getting themselves into trouble. They usually think with their emotions, but DHS lacks emotional understanding. This leads him to think based on the things that he wants. The FL is cleaning up the mess that her husband has gotten into. From looking at the episode nine preview, it looks like he has gotten into even more trouble.
Having a FL that is smart and headstrong is a treat. She doesn't jump to conclusion and makes sure that her fact are straight before acting. That is her physical facade, but on the inside she is a confused and emotional wreak. She wants solid evidence that she can latch onto, so that she can hold onto her husband for just a little longer.
They kept showing shots of the wedding rings to subtly remind us of the marital promise that they made. It was really heartbreaking when she put away the ring. This can also be interpreted as her putting away her emotions until this case is solved.
This drama isn't good for my heart. I'm on the edge of my seat every time a character speaks. The music adds to the suspense, but maybe it adds too much? Too much of anything can't be a good thing.
The fact that there is an accomplice throws everything that I had previously thought out of proportion. The father had someone (who is not DHS) helping him commit the murders either in the middle or the whole time, but this makes sense because he probably would've gotten caught sooner if he didn't have one.
Theory: What if the father is not the true mastermind of the killings that happened 14 years ago, and the accomplice was the person who was pulling the strings the whole time? This would explain the father killing himself. He could've of been killed by the accomplice, for wanting to turn himself in.
The father is a very interesting character. I want to know more about his story.

holding hands at the end...

I rest my case.
