kinda bummed that instead of being in a really good new drama, he's gonna be in s2 and s3 of tale of the nine-tailed 🥴 can't wait for his projects after
I feel like so many people have either an extreme dislike or love for this drama but to me it was kind of just there. It was illogical in many ways but it was also entertaining and sweet in some. Personally, I think Seo In Guk's acting never disappoints which is why this drama was still enjoyable though it was very lacking.
i loved this so much, one of the best dramas ive seen in a while! it really challenges your mind and makes you think more about how you categorise people without knowing them at all. i also think this drama is especially great for koreans to watch, as mentioned by others this is clearly challenging the way korean society is built up to work in a lot of ways.
been almost three months since i watched this, still think about it all the time lmao
yeah i watched that and rlly liked it! kinda stuck with me for a while but didnt have the same kinda impact on me... have you seen reply 1988 though? very different kind of vibe and storyline but i think about it all the time
Another good K-drama. I really enjoyed it. Makers of this drama are very witty they included comic relief in every…
i third that and im gonna add Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, Secret Garden (a classic), Reply 1988 (more family-genre tho), My Introverted Boss, You Who Came From The Stars, Lucky Romance and Love in the Moonlight - if you haven't seen those yet!
In script the love triangle very alike "My Girl"'s, when it is very hard and difficult for her…
she isn't using him though, she doesn't know what she feels herself. if you've ever tried getting out of a one sided love with someone you constantly see then you'll know it's hard - can't imagine how it is when he starts being affectionate or sweet with you. even if you might be over that person, feelings would always linger. feelings aren't always clear in that way - she thinks she's over him and goes on with the second lead. after the first lead shows clear affection and she wavers again, she tells him that she is and from then on he knows she might be "using" him. but if he knows it then it's not like she's actually using him. her feelings are always as sincere as she knows them to be though.
I hope that my sentences are making sense??
anyways, i think it's way less black and white!
using him would look very very different imo.
i think he can't act, but i think he isn't given the right roles either. he doesn't fit the type of character he usually portrays! he's such a sweet dude
cheesy, predictable and cliché characters and storyline... acting that ain't that good, yet i find it enjoyable for what it is! don't expect much and then you'll be able to enjoy it
This seems so ridiculously written. No agency in their right mind would debut artists so soon, no matter how "unique"…
I agree! As a lover of both, manga and kdrama, as well, I completely agree with you on that. I think instead of focusing what is right for the kdrama genre they're trying to portray it just like what the manga is like. It might just be a stylistic choice or even the choice of the mangaka (I'm just listing possiblities but I've got no clue lmao, maybe they're also just not finding the right balance). But I do agree they're leaning way too heavily on that and thus the characters seem awfully unrealistic. Still, it is also aimed towards teenagers so that is an aspect you have to keep in mind.
I like Joy and her acting, but even though I didn't read this specific manga from my wide range of shoujo that I have watched, I can agree that she is portraying it only meh.
I really like the actors and the story but it just has so many flaws it's becoming harder to watch... you…
yes!! i think that's why people have to stop judging it and hating it for what it is which is a show aimed toward teenager audiences and also a shoujo manga adaption. i don't think people would watch a childrens show and judge it the way they'd judge a movie aimed towards adults!!
and yeah you can trust me, i've read my hundreds of shoujo mangas as a teenager and these characters are all alike!
I've started this bc everyone couldn't stop talking about it and loved it so much, it also got a lot…
hey, thanks for the reply! i might give it another try considering your points! i also like when people show someone's flaws and don't portray them as someone perfect, however, there is a difference in having flaws and abusing someone or treating them as property. the fact alone that in his first real scene, just bc he didn't want to ride on his horse back again, he killed it, kinda made me cringe really hard. but i get that, it was a different time, he had a dark past and probably has got little to no kindness through his childhood to teach him how to not be.
i think it's good that they're showing his change and thanks for telling me that, as it might make me give it another try. does he stop being abusive though?
I've started this bc everyone couldn't stop talking about it and loved it so much, it also got a lot of attention and good ratings... anyway, I dropped it at episode 9, bc I couldn't take the story any longer lmao. Or better: I couldn't take the main lead. He's an abusive man who thinks the woman he likes is his posession and doesn't care about anything or anyone except for himself. I don't care if he had a dark past or people treated him badly, it is still his choice what kind of person he is. I hate this character so much, from his first scene to the last one I saw in episode 9. I just couldn't take it. Sad, because I like IU and Joo Hyuk a lot :(
I hope that my sentences are making sense??
anyways, i think it's way less black and white!
using him would look very very different imo.
i'll judge it again once i'm done with it, i hope i can become friendly with his character later on
