if you see in one of the episodes, she tells him not to get manipulated by that girl and that girl doesn't love him. Which kind of shows that she thinks he actually fell in love with that girl and even cries when he comes to protect her showing how she thought he really was with the sfl (elena).

I have to agree, they've done bad job at her character since they tried to portray the fl as an understanding girl but rather made her naive and gave her rather blind trusting act because noway any girls would be okay with her man going out and having affair with another girl.

I can agree with you that it would have been a better ending for us if they just showed them living happily with the child! tbf, I couldn't take it at first aswell but im slowly coping by thinking their happy ending was living with the child and this is s2 or something (might aswell forget that part of the ep)

it aswell shows that her wish comes true and he still remembers her in every season
