I think there is one category missing :D Which involves almost if not all of these.. In my case, I could find myself in everyone somewhat or a lot. Maybe a couple of variables..
The one category that's missing: Multifandom+ Currently airing+ True blood fans+ Ahjummas+ Related by drama+ (normal) stalkers+ Asian Wannabe+ Drama Google= conclusion: Obsessed.
I think if I take all these categories, downgrade them a bit by morals and ethics and add Korean music(not just K-pop) then I could get my last 7y of experience. Also studying the language, and culture for real and starting my own cooking business in a country, that doesn't have great, authentic Asian(def, not Korean) food to get yet... So an obsessed-passionate fan, who changes her life in so many ways bec of these dramas, music and taste.. (without trying to look like a Korean idol...)

I think it is because love all is the starting sentence in badminton or smth like that-just like how they say…
Jup! I play badminton and I'm also a line judge, 'Love all' is the phrase before the first serve. Means 0-0 or love all :) but also counting the points is continued by 1 love, 2 love, etc. until the other team/player also gets a point. then it's 1-1 and so on.
So yeah, in badminton point of view, the name for the drama makes sense.. Really hope it's good! I have been whining for years that there are not enough badminton dramas/movies :D

I'm sorry, I didn't tag the user.. My mistake! I was writing to say I agree with your comment! Mistake is mine! But I saw lots of sense and logic in your comment, Noonchi'!

I might try to be respectful of people's different sides... and I have friends whom I don't speak the same language for real. With one of them, also, about vaccinations, or how we raise our children, we decided to take the approach, that we have been friends for over 10 years, and not impose our views on each other.

Respecting our different points of view. If I say something she doesn't like, I expect she tells me about it and vice versa. But we won't say, definitely from my side, I don't think she is bad, because she is against vaccines, as a whole... I once told her I have my way of life and she has hers, let's leave it at that. And she knows I think she is pulled in by conspiracy theories, which sometimes have as much basis, as Trump had in his statements(very personal opinion) and I know she thinks me thinking that the more people vaccinated in the world, (not only covid) the more immunity we have as a whole and better we stay out of reaches like smallpox and other horrible sicknesses. And I told her what I thought about covid vaccine's theory, about how it changes DNA... I asked her if she studied in school...
And yes! I have very intelligent people around me, different medical workers, friends who work daily in laboratories creating vaccines, understanding it in-depth, people who have studied simple biology!!! This isn't coming from propaganda, it's a real-life experience! Understanding some and having had friends whose parents, friends die because covid, my father-in-law got lung thrombosis from the first round of vaccination at 86y old, survived and went to do another round because he is still teaching in the university. People who are not able to not see what is going on, and just to take one or another side opinion isn't enough, not in covid, nor in war. Use the real logical senses that are given to everyone, who are not blind enough to look out and see what's going on in the world!

My point actually was that all through those ideas and thoughts we have about each other's opinions and beliefs.. we agree that what happens in Ukraine is a CRIME! Whichever reason Putin uses, is absurd, whatever Western world did wrong, whichever politician said the wrong thing.. going into another country, saying they are bad and killing.. it's absolutely a CRIME!!!
So, people should find their empathy and sense of what is wrong and what is not from deep in their hearts, if you still believe that killing other people is justified!
Vaccination is personal, and people can stay at home and never come out then...(mostly) The most absurd thing I heard was when people in Estonia came out, protested for *human rights', other sides in the world too, and told everybody that not being allowed into a cafe without masks was the same as being a Jew and sent into a gas chamber... This was no laughing matter, I really said ugly things about such ideas, at home.

What Putin does to people now.. saying about Ukrainians that they are nazis** when their leader is a JEW!!! That is similar, not even the same in scope.. but it makes me scared and cry...

I live in Estonia, we have our president, who seems pretty smart, and logical, politicians who sometimes make me mad and sometimes depressed... But I don't want to see our political section take note of the Russian dictatorship(and I'm 100% not thinking that Russians as people are bad, only the ones who have acted as terrorists, Putin and his allies!!), that is not our country nor our system, for ~33years already! And I want independence to go on!
European peaceful borders treaties and European lives matter to me so much! Because I live here!
I don't live in the far East(or any country that is in a painful home war or other kinds of pain) and don't know their pain as they do not know ours. But I have never said that they are bad, because of something someone on media says(!), without just trials, etc. I hope simple human dignity and sanity will one day give a face to the discrimination that people use as a justification to blame everyone and then can't show compassion towards Ukrainians when they are killed... OR ANY other country that is being invaded and its citizens killed and attacked!

But you need to consider age factor tooLee Shin is a high schooler….So would Seo In guk fit for that role now
yeah, that's why I thought ab Park Jin Young, but it's difficult to understand Asian people's age for me.. They seem so young for me.. Not the same, but just young.

true, they never did, they will only care if you're white. I hate this double standard, I sympathize with Ukraine…
I don't understand how killing or bullying people is justified! I am fairly mean as a person, but even I refrain from too harsh critisicm usually.. And if being part of EU, Nato or friends with Koreans, Chinese, Americans, Indians etc, is a crime, kill me now.. I have friends from so many nations over the world. Thanks to this page, thanks to my interest in Korean culture, thanks to me writing stories, gay stories, love stories, badminton stories on Wattpad.. I see no good in calling names, usually, and I can't say anyone who is defending Putin is a bad person, maybe they just see only one sided propaganda.. But I love peace as much as my neighbour 300m away... So if anyone has a definition of peace I should debate about, I will, let's talk publicly. I once even got to talk with Seoul mayor in Estonia, face to face, and after I asked him how he judges Russian-Estonian relationship compared to S-Korea N-Koreans, he looked at me and asked if I am a political major in the university. I had to answer blushingly, that no, I am a woman from the countryside, with two kids, and educating myself as best as I can. My knees were shaking, my heart was thrumming and my voice was shaking, I have huge social fobia, so I can talk to people through my stories, and sometimes, commenting ab things that matter.. So the whole evening we had questions about BTS and living in Korea and thanks to my question, we had incredibly interesting talk with S-Korean officials, ambassadors etc.. And it was in a huge way how hard it is to create relationships between different nations and so on.. So this actually shows how different people, from very different levels of educations, nations, infrastructures and so on can sit behind a table and talk ab everything without killing each other.. I'm sorry ab mistakes, I'm not fluent in English yet.
Clarywayland20 Mar 2, 2022
It's fairly expancive list. I thought ab two different actors when I looked at this.. I Park Jin Young, I think he would be good, but maybe too sweet, L would be my second choice, I love his acting, but I would think the one I wote for finally, would be Seo In Guk... I think he has the talent, expressive nature and depth to take it home and be also really impressively good at this role!

I'm sorry. I don't see anyone going to war, acting violently against others, in war, in politics or on the streets as a justified action. Not here in comments nor in something that is as important as people losing their lives. I will refrain from commenting onwards, I am terrible touched by this subject.

I have not much knowledge about Palestine, Irak, Syria, etc, they are far from me, only what I see in the news, and I might be only born in 89, a woman and living in Estonia, pretty far from the world.. but being in a neighbouring country, direct border country to Russia, I live in Estonia. We have always been afraid of Russia, condemned Putin for being the self-righteous manipulator and tyrant as we see him... He is either gone totally bonkers or som... I was born on the first of March 1989, when most Russians left Estonia, and everyone has been afraid of Russian invasion most of my life, even if our life has been fairly or very good for the past 32 years... I have no idea of the suffering of other nations(except media), have had not enough money to help, military power or money enough to travel, but we are scared of Putin and my mom still remembers how her mom told her, how they stood in a train station, waiting for one train full of soldiers to go away, another, I think it was the German forces leaving, Russians coming in, cyanide pills in their hand. That maybe they will get away before new forces come in... So we are scared right now because if Russia/Putin wins, we might be next with other European countries, Baltics have been in his eye for a long time, as we usually don't stay quiet... I can't imagine war, I don't want it and I have two kids, 16y old and 8y old and I'm scared for them. Also, my family, some of them, are from/in Ukraine, men are fighting, women and children are in metro and basements, 3 families who are my relatives from husbands side and a bit farther down from my relatives' line, and friends families, and everyone is so afraid. About them, about our families, who have no way of getting out... I might not be Asian, Latino, or any other race out there, that is incriminated, but war is war and how I would stop it if I could!
I'm sorry! this is emotional and I always have a lot to say... but tough I hate discrimination, all people should be equal, I believe that, but this war truly touches me and scares me!
Equality, loyalty and peace are so important!
Putin is a tyrant!!!

Haven't read the novel or knew anything about this before... but it's so underrated... When I saw the first 5 episodes I skipped through all 30, bec I understood that it's a lot more than one might think at first... and now I feel like my waiting really is paying off... This is such an underrated GEM!

The entire Jekyll and Hyde is uploaded on youtube raw but other than that i don’t think you’ll be able to…
This is the saddest part of S-K musicals for me.. Won't see them if I don't go and see them live.. Only some more popular musical songs, with popular idols or musical singers are uploaded, usually a few songs per musical, on youtube, as a performance vid or especially made MV, like from Dracula, Dorian Gray, Death Note, Mozart, etc.. Thankfully my fav musical singer, Junsu has a few..
Still, I get how it's built and why and that's why Korean musicals get the audience numbers they do.. it's a fairly good business plan, just sad for foreigners who don't have the chance to travel there..

I have to praise his acting.. his immersion to every role.. It took me about 5 or 6 episodes in Sisyphus to understand that I've seen him sing in various musical MV's and award shows which are uploaded on youtube.. I couldn't even describe my affection towards musicals, but to realize that one of my favourite actors in them was on TV made me sooo happy. Also, his subtle but infectious smile makes me smile every time.
When he sings he never fails to convey the emotions of the songs and stories he is telling to his audience.. Maybe I get to see him one day, live on stage :D

Just finished ep22... in the last two episodes I cried, laughed, made weird 'aaah' sounds way too often... Though I plan to read the web novel, I def won't do it before the series is over. I'm not just in love with these two actors, I also absolutely love the skilful work they do in this drama, better than almos any before. So I would also highly recommend it, based on my experience until now.

Start over was one of my most played songs on Spotify last year. It’s a fantastic song. In fact the entire OST…
I can't pay for spotify... should I? I seem to like using Youtube premium more.. I like to see the song performed live.. and the audio versions are up as well..

I discovered Gaho a few months ago. His voice is one of my fav in the K-pop scene right now. Somehow his tone of voice makes me feel like he is powerful yet protective.. So most everything he sings feels enticing and awesome. His covers, mostly all I've seen are better than the original.. or rather I might have not liked the original song that much, but with his voice and version I started loving them.

It's a good introduction to him, thank you for the article.

Thanks for this article!

I kept thinking about a minute, whether to comment or not. I guess there are some things I dare to say :) It was also fun to read this article, a bit informative too, but interesting def.

First, I have a fair number of Asian dramas I've watched over the past 6 years. In my 'completed' list there are about 80 Korean dramas with the highest score. If I leave beside the dramas I loved for the actors, I think I am pretty fair about what I like, why and how good the drama really is. I am of course a fan of character's mental aspects, development and chemistry, but also, I have watched too many movies, series through the years to not evaluate scene development, special effects, deeper characters, side characters, production level, soundtracks, etc. So I'm thinking I have a pretty good reason to give this drama its proper place in my high ranked drama list.

Most of the mistakes there were, yes, they bothered me a bit, but not enough to leave me thinking on them too much. I haven't seen movies or dramas without any mistakes, so I have learned to let go if these other factors play a role. Like, the chemistry between actors, good or great plot, surprise twists, filling side characters, high-quality scenes, supportive or awesome soundtracks, well-placed music.

This drama's sci-fi aspects were pretty good to follow along, the surprises weren't that huge, but good enough to make me guess even at some points. I was satisfied with the way they put down the theory of time travel, changes and process in it, during it and how the characters pulled them off, it made sense. Though I'm gonna watch this drama again in a few days, with a guy who knows a lot about quantum physics and other interesting stuff, can't wait for his feedback :)

The action though a bit more than I like in a drama, some of it was unnecessary for me, but it didn't take away from the development of the story so it never bothered me really. As I don't like comical characters too much, I was blessed in this drama, because to make great comical aspects the characters in the drama or movie need to be really mature and not make fun of others mistakes or accidents, In here we saw slight humour, which was easily understood through different storylines and happenings, It gave the needed breather to the mental battle going on in between the characters, but it didn't take the attention away too much.

As much as I remember, the music made me happy, it was placed so well, managing to support and evolve the mood of the scenes. As music for me is one of the main factors I usually do or don't appreciate in a drama, I was satisfied with it this time.

Now just a short braise for the actors, I did not give the drama a high score because I loved these two actors, I have plenty of dramas, that can't carry their weight and whomever the actor is can't make the scoring stand behind them. But the main actors truly did a good job, PSH maybe had the most difficulty with her role, but I think she has hopefully more and more chance through the years to evolve and hopefully gets more intricate roles in the future thanks to this role. I thought that her skills had gotten better when she played in Memories of the Alhambra, but these two roles of her are totally different in genres.
The only actor who somehow didn't either fit his role or did not satisfy me this time was Tae In Ho, I can't really say.. maybe it was the fault of the scriptwriter, but I think his role was too vague, or pathetic and this is truly one of the side characters who didn't bring his potential on the screen. I'm not saying he was terrible, but I've seen him play better...

I do agree, or rather think that this drama delved into sci-fi with courage you don't/didn't find before, there have been a few, but definitely not enough, and hopefully, it will give a boost for scriptwriters, producers, directors to take it up a notch and try new ideas.

All in all, this is my 'short' comment after reading your article.
Chrysmas Apr 22, 2021
Mostly agree :) One of the first K-drama's I've watched, many times now. Though my fav still is Young-Hwa ;) The main couple is good and I like both of the actors, still like to be nostalgic and watch this series pretty often, even though I have a lot to watch and re-watch :D
