It’s a happy ending... leads reunite again in the last scene...
Def agree! I always wish that kind of end scene in almost all dramas... At least that, especially if they can’t give us the epilogue of the leads being married with kids n look happiest to make our suffering of watching their angsty story worth it... WE deserve it! haha!
It’s a happy ending... leads reunite again in the last scene...
U meant how it implies that they only get to meet again in the last scene? Yeah, it’s kinda common for C-Drama right? I’m happy enough there is that half scene (reuniting without even showing her face n a final hug/kiss), at least I can take that they end up together...
It’s a happy ending... leads reunite again in the last scene...
I watched the last few eps raw, so sorry if I’m wrong... but I also read in the comments that’s how it ends in the novel, happy ending... they faked their deaths, FL left ML related to how her condition influence his, ML wandered alone n finally the end scene shows ML saw FL waiting for him in front of his place... I’m not sure if that’s in another world coz it doesn’t look like their cabin, however they reunite there... so I’ll take that as a happy ending...
what's the other two romcoms in your top3 of 2020. if i may ask :P
Have fun watching then! It will take a while to finish all of them coz only 1 of those is the 24eps kinda drama, the rest r kinda a long watch, but I guarantee they r all good!
I was also thinking about putting Blooms at Ruyi on the list coz it started so good, however it is kinda too angsty in the middle for my liking... but I’d still recommend that to watch if u have finished the 5dramas , coz the pairing is just so good IMO...
what's the other two romcoms in your top3 of 2020. if i may ask :P
Let me give u my top 5 C-Drama Romcom 2020 (not in a particular order since each has plus n minus IMO): - Begin Again - Love is Sweet - Skate into Love - The Romance of Tiger&Rose - Love Designer
For K-Drama my fave of 2020 is It’s Ok To Not Be Okay, no competition...
Watched the first 2eps subbed + 8eps raw, n it looks ok so far... some paces r a bit slow, but will continue this n see how it goes...
Def not a fan of the overdub... I wish if they had to use other people to overdub them, they ’d use the same people who dubbed their previous dramas... it’s just annoying for me to watch them in different voices everytime...
Highlights: - Luving the mainleads! The chemistry is superb! n I’ve watched their other dramas, IMO they r each other’s best partner so far... - There r character developments for the casts… even people u hate at first, they end up being ok people n in good terms with everybody... super happy ending kinda story… - The kid actor is just super adorable! - I like it plotwise… almost no boring moments, I rarely skipped scenes in this! which I do usually a lot for too boring/angsty parts in the drama…
Things I’m not too fond of: - It took 6 years for them to reunite? It’s just too long to leave someone u luv like that, esp if u don’t even have a good enough reason to separate in the first place… she could’ve just gone with him to Germany since she gave up the company anyway… plus he deserves to know about his kid, he missed the first 5years of his life! I know they use this to make a big must have problem in a drama so they can have the last 10eps fixing that or there will be no important plot... plus they might wanna use a kid that’s big enough to act super cute n smart, so that time gap is explainable... n yes like I said before, Lu Youyou is just so cute, so his presence is just worth the time gap! - The cliche “they knew each other from childhood” plot… though in this drama it’s kinda needed, since it’s the big reason for him to say yes to the contract marriage in the first place…
Overall it’s in my top 3 best romcom of 2020... Highly recommended! They have only 1 major break up! Yeah I know it’s a huge one, but still compared to some dramas that give soooo many breakup moments, this is an ok one... plus eventhough they got separated 6years in eps24, but on air aspect for us as watchers, by the next episode they already have an encounter again,so it’s not like we gotta wait for a few eps of them not meeting each other... especially for romcom lovers, this is a MUST WATCH!
What I like: 1. The typical fluffy arranged marriage romance with LOTS of skinship n kisses between the male leads... n the main leads stay true to each other from the start till finish... the ML is just so romantic!
2. There isn’t really second male/female lead draggy plot... at least there r 5 couples got together at the end of the drama...
What I don’t really like: 1. The FL character is a lil bit too annoying IMO... I get that she is supposed to be young n at first her behavior is kinda acceptable, but somehow after being married for a while, she is just the same childish girl who gets into trouble repeatedly without even realizing it... she always blames her husband when things don’t go her way or if he doesn’t agree with her, n he always apologizes in the end, superb ML character I guess.. I almost dropped this after her repeated antics, but somehow managed to finish this just for the sake of the romance n curiousity of how it’ll end...
2. It got boring plot wise at some point, but still watchable... skimmed thru some scenes though...
Overall the drama is light, so it’s recommended if u just got out of an angsty drama n need a bit of happy times... n it’s a happy ending, the satisfying one where everybody is happy, including some of the small villains...
Just watched the modern world extra scenes! It’s on IQIYI app... But for only 4eps (3eps of 17mins + 1eps of 2mins), I wish there were more fluffy cute scenes instead of the hot&cold act from Xujin, it’s unnecessary IMO...
However I’m still grateful for the extras, coz I always like watching them together...
N in the end they say “blooms ruyi ends but their story continues...” n they also say “we’ll meet again!” So I’m hoping for their 3rd drama, fingers crossed!
It started off so good! The fluffy funny family drama with some romance n lots of type of relationships... I was hooked from the first episode, especially after Jun-aaa came into the picture... Anyone would want a Jun in their lives...
Not a fan of: - “the I let u go for ur own good” kinda plot, done by both main leads... - I thought this would be a light drama but suddenly the main lead is dying! I cried a lot the last 2eps... then the half of the last eps is just WHAT??? How can u not tell someone u luv that u actually hasn’t been dead for the last 5years! And IMO isn’t it weird for Rara to not ask where Jun was buried? If someone u luv dies, u’ll for sure wanna know where his resting place is n at least visit it one time right? Plus Jun is the son of the rich family, if he dies, his death would be a big news that’s not hard to look up online don’t u think? - Too much repeated flashbacks IMO...
Overall this is still an enjoyable drama up to the last eps when Jun supposedly dies n not reaching out to Rara for the whole 5years! I don’t know if I’d forgive him that easily... the so called “forging ur death so ur loved one could get over u quickly” plot doesn’t work out for me... especially when u suddenly come back and not even explaining urself well n just expect her to be ok with it just becoz u survive a deadly disease... I wish they give it a better ending.. at least after that give them a nice wedding with the whole family... that last scene with only a kiss isn’t enough after that 5years! still relieved it’s a happy ending though...
*SPOILER It is a happy ending, they finally got married near the end, eps 46 i think... however i skipped the middle part after YY married the emperor (not sure if i’ll ever watch that part, i hate the emperor n too much political palace stuff...) n went straight to the part where the emperor died in eps 41 n finished the series... I hope u wanted to know that? Don’t really wanna spoil it if u wanna find out urself... coz personally I almost always prefer to know how it ends before I start watching a series...
I dropped too I'm reading comments and spoilers. If I wanted a documentary I would watch one lol When they mix…
Agree with that documentary comment!
I stopped watching when they got separated, so sad, I hate Mingyi! I knew it was gonna be angst, was hoping for the angst starting in much later eps, but no, they gotta do it so early n i kinda lost interest...
However I agree that Shawn is getting hotter in this look! N the part suits him... So I might pick it up later for him... for Tiffany, I always like her dramas, but imagining her scenes will mostly be with that cunning Emperor, not so sure if I could watch them...
Luv their pairing again after See You Again... their chemistry is still good... was expecting so much more than this, plot wise.. *sigh...
This was more of a couple that will continue to love each other no matter what situation they are in... they will…
Thx for the reply...
Though my summary from what u r saying is that more likely angst till near the end right? Coz even if it’s true luv plot, I prefer “the not married to other people kinda plot” even if it’s gonna be a happy ending...
Like in Princess Weiyoung, he married that other girl first, and IMO that’s the worst angsty part of the drama... but at least he did that to protect Weiyoung n it didn’t drag too long...
However I think this kinda drama one will drag till the end right? *sigh...
When I started this I was hoping for a longer part of happy times or at least more adventure n mischievous moments to make it to the throne n not too long political part... but I think it’s unlikely based on that eps 17 i just finished...
Just finished 17 and the angst will start I guess… Can anyone tell me if HD and YY will have lots of interactions in the eps forward? I’m so pissed at Mingyi... worst kind of person!
Since they will be apart, mostly angst right? Not excited about watching them coz watching them together is why I wanted to see this drama, luv their dramas! and its a bit annoying that their happy story didn’t even manage halfway from total 48eps… *sigh...
Is it worth it to watch the angst? Just can’t wait for Mingyi to die! He will die right? I bet if he does, he’ll die near the end... bad guys survive long...
Finished 40eps! Skimmed thru some not so interesting eps when Furong&Su were kinda enemies... I know there must be angst&drama nearing the end, but I just think they should have a bit more of cute moments... from eps 29 forward till the end, they got separated for too long and too many times... IMO the 2nd couple got more lovey dovey moments which r cute, but I prefer they add more time for Furong&Su to be together and maybe they could investigate things side by side instead of being each other’s enemy plot... thankfully i got to watch the last 12 eps in 1 time (IQIYI VIP) or I would have to wait another week for the new eps after all the heartbreaking parts...
Anyway, it’s a happy ending! So I guess there’s that...
I was also thinking about putting Blooms at Ruyi on the list coz it started so good, however it is kinda too angsty in the middle for my liking... but I’d still recommend that to watch if u have finished the 5dramas , coz the pairing is just so good IMO...
