I’m not giving up on Kdramas, but for me they are weakest in the finale episodes. Especially on these long shows. To wrap up roughly 8 stories in an hour and 6 minutes isn’t good planning! They needed to have GJ start ep 35 in situation he spent half of ep 36 in. Well it was decent and I’ll miss it for a while.🫣 (And hope DR & GJ are still together…🤔)

I did look forward to each weekend’s new episodes. I was frustrated each episode at this or that, but also laughed, shed a tear or two and wondered where the romance was… but when you said “elders sitting on the floor” it all kind of clicked. This was equally (almost) about the elders, GJ & DR, and everyone else in between.

Very thoughtful and profound. It seems that son’s are supposed to choose their mother / parents even above their own spouse in the SK culture. There are lots of nonfiction articles and yt videos about this topic.
But it seemed GJ’s mother was jealous of her son's love for DR and her family.
Yes there were things he should have tried - especially to communicate more with her more before all the crap happened.
Like you said now he is fighting to get her love back when it shouldn’t be that fickle. As humans and adults both GJ and his mother may have arguments and be distant for a time. But he should feel confident that his mother loves him. Not have to earn that.
Still as an adult no one wants their mom to sat you can’t love DR, she’s not good enough so Breakup and go on a blind date tomorrow.
As an adult you love who you love and if your parents loves you then they should understand and accept it.
