It was a difficult, heartbreaking episode to watch, but the issues are real… it seems SK has some changes to make to protect the abused?!?

Also, I wish the abused wife’s parents could be charged with something for her death!
Failure to protect your child and stupidly believing the abuser over the abused.

The parents probably looked the other way for money from the POS husband…(darn rich people in KDramas)!

Hate the character, I mean really hate the character, that means he’s a good actor!

This was a difficult episode to get through with a horrible ending. (not the acting or writing).

I was “happy” that CEG finally wouldn’t continue to represent that POS CLIENT!
Let’s see what the new CEO does.

I wish she would have acted when he said he kill her (the wife), then he threaten CEG too!😡

I was surprised she went to the clients home alone. He was menacing in her office.

In the US, I think, you can get a divorce if one party wants one, right?

That was a difficult episode to watch even when I knew it was actors and no one was actually abused irl. 😡😢

I hope the next episode avenges the poor victim’s death.😔

That’s very reassuring to hear!
My only exposure to Korean culture is (perhaps unfortunately / sadly) through Kdramas.
While I know things are exaggerated, it must be based on some past experiences or the way things used to be.
Also, I really don’t like when two full grown adults find love only to have them break up because the parents don’t approve or the others status is high enough…😔

I do know it’s a fictional show and I’m sure things are much more evolved in real life!

Still it’s nice to get confirmation from a real person!

I think, based on nothing more than a few hours of watching these characters… that the FL once she (if she) falls in love (or realizes she loves) with the ML - she will give 100% of her heart into the relationship.
She doesn’t seem to do things halfway.
In school and work… she worked until she dropped.

So once the switch flips to love.., she’ll be committed 100%.

I’m my humble opinion.

You’re right, this is not a one-off!
As a westerner it’s difficult to watch and imagine grown adult children (that earn a living) be controlled to such an extent. 😣

How old is the daughter supposed to be?
I understand that it’s SK, a chaste society in KDramas, but the mother is going to beat up her daughter because she was at a motel with a guy…🤦🏻‍♂️
I get that mom may not be happy or even angry…

Based on what the mother said in ep 7 (I think 7) it maybe her fault the daughter hates her father… I won’t tell he whole story in case you haven’t watched it yet…🤔

The father isn’t faultless by far and wasn’t a great dad…

With the rain/umbrella and the way the scenes were shot… I really thought it was going to be like the two you mention.
I put it on hold when the ML moved out of his parents house.
It was too slow & focused on work. With romance in the title, I was think Rom-Com with some work/social issues stuff sprinkled in…
It was the opposite. I really like the leads, but the pacing was…
in general this was not what I had hoped it would be…

Most people liked it so that’s okay!

Yes dad ruined everything! And he is very selfish. I’m not a mental health professional so I don’t know if he’s a narcissist or any other label, but being intimate with you affair partner in front of your child has to be psychologically damaging!

Though the mom was neglectful, it wasn’t intentional, well maybe, but not malicious.

As far as your comment about the daughter being selfish, she is still young and hurt and injured… and her dad was the one there for her through everything! Even her first period which is a great way to take care of your daughter, but very telling.

She is not yet in middle school so with everything she’s gone through… maybe selfish is not correct (imo). She is often more mature than the adults and she’s really still a child.

Other than that tiny point we totally agree!

Did you think the mother(FL) should have called the father when the daughter was in the ER wanting her dad?

I have mixed feelings:
1. It’s too soon for FL to separate herself from feeling inadequate as a mom. So she wasn’t ready to reach out to dad and maybe be blamed for the daughter’s injury?

2. It would have been a great healing moment for the daughter that both her parents will work together to take care of her even though they are divorced. They didn’t divorce her (the daughter).

This is really a wonderfully written show with a strong cast. The actor playing the daughter has some great skills along side of veteran actors!

Even though I “hate” the weekly wait when watching shows on air - it’s really nice to be able to discuss the show while waiting for the next episode!
Even if you don’t like everyone’s opinions it’s still nice most of the time to share thoughts!
When I first started watching Kdramas, I had no one to discuss the shows with, or answer questions when I didn’t “get” something! That’s because the show could be years old already. 🤔
Yes it’s nice to be able to watch the whole series…except for binging and not sleeping too much!
But I miss the interaction with other watchers of the show!
All this is just my opinion… no judgment for others opinion as I’ve done both Watch on air & when completed. 🫣
