There's many factors/reasons. I'm saying this based on what I've seen and just logic/reasoning.

1. Allen has good resources bc he was with a company. His company can invest in his dramas or "produce" for him. 7 is an individual artist from the very start of her career. The downside of individual artists if having no backing and no help, have to fight and earn everything on their own. Not many individual artists can succeed, there's a couple like Wulei and bjt that never joined a company.

2. Males are always easier to get popular, faster and bigger, than females. males have larger female fan base typically.

3. 7 isn't born with an advantage where she's tall, has a hot figure and beautiful. Antis constantly ridicule her looks and height. She doesn't have the beauty like reba. 7 knows her short coming so she works harder.

4. Allen and 7 are going different route. Allen is still doing idol like dramas. Idol dramas like bring in more/faster hype and popularity. The downside is that as the celebrity ages, it's hard for them to change their route to becoming a more serious actor in more serious/mature dramas. ZLY can be considered successful in changing her image and route to a more serious actor. In china there's two types of actorsL the idol ones where you act for fans and popularity and ofc money, the other is solely focusing on acting alone and treat acting as not just a profession but a life line, something you want to do for the rest of your life until you die (that's what 7 is trying to go for). 7 is in two propaganda dramas, but allen hasn't been in any. Not everyone can be in propaganda dramas...not even the A list ones. You don't see reba, yz, ym in those dramas. But 7 was invited to be in them, it's government regulated I feel like, and although I'm not a fan of those types of dramas, I'm pretty proud 7 got to be part of it, just shows how clean her image is. She's humble, hardworking and clean. I don't think China would choose a controversial celeb to be in their dramas.

4. 7's resources has improved significantly. Her costars were Wallace, wk (he's a well respected actor and so is Wallace....both are seniors in the acting industry), and jbr. I think they are all A list.

5. Joining variety shows increases exposure and popularity. Allen is in a lot of vs, however 7 was only in one (little forest). 7 will only attend vs to promote her dramas like HC, HS, DDU...these one ep vs. She wants to focus on acting and not to just get popular. There's a thing where if you are on vs too often fans can't get into the characters you act bc they only see you as the person you portray in vs. It's not a good thing in the long run. But, there's also the fact that 7 is only comfortable with people she knows so she will only attend vs if there's guests/members that she knows. Hence why she attends hejoing vs a lot.

6. People think she's not as popular bc she doesn't have a large fan base or a lot of attention. But, that's how she likes it. I think she's a very private person and doesn't like the lime light. Hence, why she doesn't create cp hype. Many celebrities, like senior actors, acknowledge and know that 7 is a very down to earth, low key and humble person, hence why I think many wouldn't mind collaborating with her.

7. She's now known as the tv satellite queen. Most, if not all, of her dramas have not aired on satellitve tv, ever since GA. FTY is airing on cctv 8, which is pretty impressive. Momo was aired on Dragon tv and Home will air on Dragon tv as well. airing on tv is superior than airing online platform. FTY right now is doing very well on tv, is no. 1 twice in a row now and according to Vlinkage it's no. 1 tv drama. I haven't seen Allen's drama aired on tv yet.

8. 7 doesn't seem to care about costaring with high traffic stars. She mostly cares about the script and the character she plays. She likes to choose scripts that she can relate or finds something special in that character. Many have been saying she has an eye for choosing scripts. i think she's just careful in choosing scripts. One bad script can tarnish all her hard work and recongition she's gained.

9. If her dramas doesn't produce good results, I don't think tv stations would want to buy the copyright to air her dramas. That's why her dramas are now on tv a lot.

10. I think she knows how to gain popularity, but she doesn't want to act in dramas that she doesn't want. That's the freedom of being individual artist. Everyone knows that she can just act in a period drama, maybe fantasy or wuxia and collaborating a 2nd time with another costar like maybe with Allen again or Steven, as well as create some cp hye...poof, her popularity rises. I feel like she can go that route but she won't. High traffic route shines bright and fast, you gain immense popularity, resources, fan base and money. But sometimes that route doesn't last lnng. She wants a lasting acting career.

That's just my thoughts, and how most of her fans in China thinks too.

Sometimes it's to test the fans and public reaction on the collaboration. If fans are excited and positive and have enough noise level on the collaboration then next drama might find the two celebs to collab. It's also to create hype for that particular drama. They might find popular celebs to associate the drama to bring attetion and noise to the drama, but it's just to use the celebs, the celebs might not even have the script.

7 is very low profile, she never announces anything, she didn't announce fty, home, or her movie. The only announcemet is when the drama is close to airing or needs promotion. It's frusterating ofc, even I am frusterated sometimes. So I pay attention to the melons and if the melon is consistent like Beijing (has been rumored since august 28) then it should be true.

Not every celebrity's goal is to be a traffic star...some want to go the more skilled and acknowledged route and be an actor/actress. One that is acknowledged by senior and veteran actors/actresses. Seven's dramas has been airing on satellite tv since her drama, Go Ahead, which was 2 years ago. Her current drama, Flight to You, is producing great results, no.1 viewed for tv dramas and airing on cctv 8 (not all dramas can air on cctv) as well as Tencent and Iqiyi. She's deemed and acknowledged as the queen of satellitve tv...her next upcoming drama next year will air on Dragon tv. In china, airing on tv is superior than airing online. Go Ahead has given and helped Mango tv reach the highest viewership in the past years, and no drama after has reached the same results as Go Ahead. Go Ahead, has re-aired over 20x in China and internationally, and it's reairing again in Japan in January. She's known to be very low profile, she doesn't like to create cp hype nor does she want to go the high traffic route. Dylan is just starting to get popular, you are not doing a great job being his biggest fan by instigating disharmony. Seven doesn't want to act in idol dramas....which Dylan is doing right now. However, we do have one thing in common and it's to take this page down. I'm sick of seeing this page being associated with Seven, I've talked to the admin and they won't take it down. If you watch the variety show called Little Forest, 7 and steven were main members. Viewers were gushing on them bc they thought steven had a thing for seven haha. I actually saw the poster with steven's hand on top of 7 too. It got me confused too.

I love the details they put in this drama. The scene where zq confronted his mom...they were all in the taxi and jj sat in the middle holding both zq and lx's hand. If you see closely, she holds it differently, her and lx's palms are touching while her hand is over zq's.

Also the goldfishes symbolized growth...in li dad's house they have a tank of fishes. The fishes grow as the years pass by and the three siblings grow. But MY's goldfishes remain babies symbolizing her not being able to be independent and grow on her own bc of her mom. She can't be free and do her own thing, she's always being reigned in by her mom, so in the last scene where she frees the goldfishes symbolizes her being free and independent too as she travels to another city to further her career.

The shoes that jj bought for lx and zq's bday...they kept it for 9 years. But the key is how they kept it/used it. If my memory serves me correctly, I think lx wore it daily for 9 years that it has become torn and tattered, while zq never wore it and kept it brand new. the shoes for lx represented something from jj, so when he wears it feels like jj is by his side, he can't start the day without them, it's essential to him. While zq cherished them like a valuable treasure, something he doesn't want to ruin.

in their adolescene, lx's room is full of jj's drawings on his wall. There's a drawing of the three of them and a drawing of just him.

Another thing, when lx came back from 9 years abroad, he wanted to go inside jj's room to get to know her better by seeing what her childhood room was like. He went through all her drawings, pictures and stuff animals. While zq looked through the house instead and not jj's room. That is a big clue indicating that lx cares about jj a lot while zq cares about the family

So there's this rumor, it's sparkled here and there on wb, that youku is making a period drama specifically tailored for 7 to be fl role. I hope it's true!! Whether it's after filming Beijing or to replace Beijing.

This drama spans 3 decades, from when the leads are kids to adolescents to adulthood. It's about familial relationships, how each child grows up differently bc of different backgrounds, mental health is a big subject in this drama as well but they do it subtly, there's also friendship and romance.

There's a scene where jj and zq sit and talk it through in his cafe. She basically said that in the Li household registar There's their dad and mom, and zq as the son and her as the daughter. Lx was in a different household. zq was always unsure and paranoid bc he's not legally Li dad's son, he's more like a foster son. So when li dad and his biological mom got married, he's pretty happy about it bc he's officially/legally Li dad's son and jj's brother. That's really his ultimate wish. He isn't ready for romantic relationships. There's a lot of clues that hint the maturity between lx and zq. zq doesn't see jj as the opposite sex, aka a woman, he sees her as the kid sister he always protected and cared for. lx, on the other hand, started seeing her as a woman in his adolescences when he wouldn't let her sleep in his bed.

There's no love triangle. ZQ was just misled by his friend about his feelings towards JJ. He's protective of JJ bc he cherishes and values family and he sees JJ and Li dad as his most important family members. The love triangle didn't even last long before everything was resolved.

So far, I do agree with others that CX is too head strong and arrogant at times. Confidence is good and necessary, but being overly confident isn't so. She's confident in her skills, especially with perfect track record for 7 years. I think that's what justified her cockiness and arrogance. Her skills on flying a plane may be superb, but she still has a lot to learn in terms of flying a commercial plane. A cargo pilot is different from commerical pilot, in ep 8 it already showed her judgement that a little turbulance wouldn't be too much trouble to passengers. I think, this drama isn't just about her facing challenges as a female pilot in a male dominant profession, but also self learning and growth. Acknowledging her errors and improve on that.
