I agree, I somehow enjoy their moments more before they were dating. I think they might’ve played the overly-fluff couple on purpose? It’s to contrast the impeding angst the two of them will face when they start addressing dusik’s trauma. Ep11 and ep12 had different tones in my opinion. Ep11 was all fluff and happiness whereas ep12 brought in more realistic aspects of a relationship (jealousy, miscommunication), and showed dusik’s continuous nightmare. It seemed like ep11 was hyejin’s pov while ep12 was dusik’s pov

They used it for comedic relief which I get isn’t you cup of tea. But the way the villagers all criticized hyejin for it and protected dusik really showed that they don’t condemn it. I’m sure it isn’t in the writer’s intention to support that type of behavior. It’s a little dramatic to call their relationship abusive...
