Not your typical dating show

I do find this show quite lovely. It is pretty rare to see a reality show that only focuses on queer women. Although, beware, this is not a full-on dating show, it was more about connection to the community and friendships. The value of this show lies in the conversations. All those different perspectives, even if you do not necessarily agree with some of them, are extremely interesting and absolutely worth listening to. The discussions vary from one topic to another: AI, open relationships, sexuality, etc. When it comes to the format, it was fine. Nothing extraordinary but also not boring. The number of episodes was definitely not enough to explore the relations the way they deserved to be, but it gave some kind of foundation. Again, I feel like it was more about the mentality rather than the physicality. But it is not like there was no romance at all. The editing was fun, the episodes are free to watch, and I had a big grin on my face every Wednesday while watching it: what is more to want?

Grim Reality in Great Production

It was a good watch. Park Hae Soo and Lee Hee Jun did a tremendous job, their acting was really great. The same could be said about the rest of the cast. Music was very fitting, especially the opening song really got you and sent shivers down the spine. The story was quite good; however, the exposition was not always the best. The camera sometimes pointed at something so aggressively that it was almost insulting, as if it were saying "see, this is the thing that was mentioned seconds ago, and it is here!!! here!!! look!!!". Two last episodes felt kind of rushed, I wish there were more shown about the present time. The characters were its strongest point. Sometimes, even the "good guys" are not that good and sometimes, nobody really wins.

It Definietly is a Drama!

I am always excited when a new GL comes out; however, it is no longer 2015 and, as there are now more than five productions, my expectations are a bit higher. The story is quite lovely, and the action scenes are not bad. There are only seven episodes, but the plot does not feel overly rushed and you can actually feel yourself invested in the story. There are some elements that deserve a snort (the "always packed bakery" has barely three people in it each scene, the bodyguard could not be more useless, etc.) but they are not that much in your face. My main problem is that everything seemed too clear, too perfect. I could not forget that I am watching something and these are just actresses and actors. Most scenes, especially when both female leads had a moment, looked like a photo shoot and not a real-life motion. Every time they kissed, I was waiting for a product placement. And do not even get my started on the frequency of slow-motion! Overall, it is cute, it is fun but nothing more than that.

Fun, Cute and Real

Although the episodes are short and there are not many of them, what struck me the most is how real it is. Of course, the comic effect was sometimes off the roof, but I found the story (including inner monologues) most relatable. The ever-present question "is she really flirting with me or is she just straight?", the uncertainty of it all was just *chef's kiss*. And I always applaud using the word "lesbian" because so often writers just do not want to deal with it. I am not the biggest fan of time skips but I did not mind this one although I would love to see some more development. My biggest complaint is that it is just too short but there is another season, which I hope explores the themes that were not expanded here. And the OST! It accompanied me all week.
