I mean you guys don't get that this is an "Opinion" based article. I am not trying to convince you with good grammar…
Opinion and facts are not mutually exclusive (infact they're dangerous when opinions aren't base on fact). I'm responding and expecting you to take it as constructive criticism

Have you watched game of Thrones, the expanse, firefly, breaking bad? Those shows aren't good because of the sex,…
In terms of sex in shows. Firstly it's sensational- people enjoy looking at other peoples naked bodies from time to time. Secondly- its a pretty great way to signal to the audience that this is a show for adults. It's a lot to do with rating agencies as well (that we don't think off) but it allows you to talk about drugs, rape and those sorts of topics more candidly because the target demographic is adults! Thirdly, we all have sex, part of these worlds is the fact that people have sex. In GoT it serves the purpose of the story. They have settings in brothels, they have women that are being raped. Those aren't nice things and if you're not as explicit you won't get the same horrified realisation of how bad it is (unless you're unfortunate enough to experience it yourself).

I was responding to you saying k-dramas have more of a plot when that's clearly false. In fact if you compare the source material of the best western series based on books to the best (or any) asian dramas based on books/manga, the sheer length of the material is enough to tell you there's more plot.

I like asian dramas but there's definitely not more plot to them. The author pointed out some cliches here but they do so much recycling even the plot that is there isn't very original either. they're easy to follow and if you could understand the language you probably wouldn't even pay as much attention as you do reading the subs. I understand a bit of Hindi so watching Indian dramas don't require my full attention. Even for me Chinese friend, she watches C-drama in the background while working since they are easy to follow. In the end, asian dramas are fun, enjoyable and easy to watch but there's nothing wrong with that,

Good opinion piece but you really need to work on your writing style. Take it as constructive criticism but the way you write seems to be the way you talk and that's a definite no no. It would take too long to list the problems but, in my opinion, the best way to improve writing is by reading. Read actual novels not fan fiction or YA or online articles since those have terrible grammar as well.

I clearly put its "ONE of the MAIN reasons" never really said it was the main reason because I know the other…
Just to step in here. You first article is from a western source and sounds pretty judgemental towards a culture they don't understand. For me, calling Asian women "anime princesses" is pretty messed up and would be like me going to California and calling the women walking the streets movie/porn stars... you're associating a people with a type of media. Secondly when it comes to research personal articles tend to do a terrible job of actually reading the research. The paper is about "how negative body image affects mental health" and its great that it does come from SK. But you don't automotically correlate that with suicide as you and the article have. Negative body image for example may just be an indication that that person is suicidal but not the cause. Correlation =\= causation. What could happen (my hypothesis) is that people who aren't well off (thus can't afford the socially accepted plastic surgeries) due to not having a job or the living costs being too high or not being able to perform at work, end up with suicidal thoughts due to that. They may have a negative body image but the other factors are the real reasons people would be suicidal.

The last I remember the commonly seen direct cause for suicide was working conditions and that's why it's office workers that are committing suicide.

I absolutely don't believe you should impose your standards of beauty on them and obviously the opposite offends you.

I agree Kdramas are the best dramas as most of them have more of a plot rather then Western shows that just seem…
Have you watched game of Thrones, the expanse, firefly, breaking bad? Those shows aren't good because of the sex, its because of the story and mature themes they explore( mature doesn't mean sex btw). If sex was the selling point then people would rather be watching pornhub than organising viewing parties to watch the latest GoT episodd. Kdramas are fun but are not deep(and their main theme of romance is obviosuly over dramatized unless you literally have never been in a healthy relationship). Indian dramas in fact do a better job of representing a traditional Asian household, whereas East Asian dramas gloss over that.
