Many big time companies pulled their ads from X, not just Disney. And you have it wrong, private companies decide…
This isn't about Musk's opinion, which he clearly has a right to express. This is about private companies making a business decision that they are freely able to do and it has nothing to do with blackmail nor the lack of free speech. If Musk has the right to air his opinions then said private companies have the right to theirs, right? Are companies not able to complain when they are spending their money and find out that their ads are next to Hitler quotes because that actually happened. You do know that Maryland University football team, Adobe and NY university hospital pulled their ads when they were made aware that their ads were running next to pro-nazi statements right.? That's supposed to be ok for them? I'm asian and my brother has a small office business and you think he would be fine if he ran ads and saw that they were next to nazi posts?

Don't fall for it. Free speech is not being hindered in anyway. It's just like the Budweiser issue when people started to boycott the beer because some thought the trans issue was bing pushed too much. I personally disagree but people have a right to be associated with what they want to be associated with and it has nothing to do with lack of free speech. all the people and businesses that decided to distance themselves with Budweiser have that right.

I'm sorry but you act like this is the first time something like this has happened in history and it is not. It has always been the case where companies pull their support from another if they think what has been done or said is negative and can effect their bottom line. And in this case Disney, Apple, IBM, Comcast, LionGate, Warner Bros. , and Walmart have all decided to pull their ads. And what's the reason for that? Have you actually looked it up? Companies that run ads on X have noticed their ads are running alongside pro-Nazi posts and Hitler quotes. Now, you might think this is acceptable but these companies don't. A sports team running an ad might not want their ads next to a Hitler quote. Maybe Disney doesn't want their ads to be next to a post that Musk liked that said Jews hate white people. That is not blackmail nor is that a political stunt.

And I'm sorry but this has nothing to do with free speech because who is being hindered from speaking? No one. Musk and those on X can keep posting anything they want but that doesn't mean these companies have to support their words and actions with THEIR money. Would it be reasonable that I go out in public and express my views and cry blackmail if I don't get the support I think I deserve? Free speech is the right to express your opinions without the retaliation from the government. It means no one goes to jail for their beliefs or opinions. It does not mean private individuals or companies have to support you.

Absolutely no one's opinions are being silenced here. Anyone can go on X right now and type bigoted statements until their fingers bleed. Musk can like any post he wants, hateful or not. You have that right but that doesn't mean you have the right to unconditional guaranteed support for said beliefs and opinions.

I would rather not watch anything related to Disney with their recent stunt of pulling their advertisement from…
Many big time companies pulled their ads from X, not just Disney. And you have it wrong, private companies decide who they want to work with not you or Musk. It's their money so it's their decision if they want to associate or partner with another company. That's American capitalism not blackmail.
