Okay I think we can safely say that the rumors are entirely fake, it wasn't based on anything in the first place and it's like 10pm in China right now, so nothings getting released today π
I think the rumors are fake. As of right now, it's around midday in China, and dramas usually air somewhere in the afternoon/evening. There's been no posts about it online, and nothing on YouKu's site. Even if it's an airdrop release, there should at least be something, like a confirmation or an airing calendar! There's been close to no posts about it aside from those few Weibo accounts which aren't the most trustworthy. And logically it doesn't make sense why they would rush this drama so much, it has a very high budget and is very highly anticipated, so I don't get why they would rush it so much. There's still a bit over half of the day, so let's just wait and see π€
Thank u to everyone who's been self promoting Love in the Clouds, whether it's by online posts or real life advertisement. While it is really disappointing to see so little promotion from the big fancy companies, it's also really heart warming to see us Kiwis coming together β€οΈπ₯
Everyone has such pretty profiles, I made one too, but for some reason I can't display it properly, I can only use a link. Can someone please tell me which platforms you used and how you displayed everything? π
I really hope that doesn't happen, but for now I'm not too worried, I don't think they'd screw up such an anticipated drama like this one with a relatively well known cast. (Although these can also be the exact reasons why they decide to skip the promotions).
But wasn't this also quite a high budget drama?? I don't think Youku would take any chances if it is (I really hope they do promote it properly and not skip or rush anything with the post production π£π€)
i know HMH dubbed his own voice, is it the same for LYX?
I don't know her too well so I'm not sure, but dramas usually get someone else to dub because of accents, voice consistency, character age/maturity and "vibe", vocal skills and dictation, so if Lu Yixiao's pretty well spread with all those categories and her voice fits the character's vibe and age, then there's a good chance for her to be chosen.
From what I'm seeing in C media is that some people want her to "get a vocal teacher" and be dubbed by someone else, which I don't agree with because from the trailer I think she fits her character perfectly in terms of character maturity and vibe, her vocal skills seem to be pretty good, her dictation is clear and she doesn't seem to have a strong accent, even if she does it comes across as natural and she has molded it into her character. I can't really comment on the other points since there's not enough material from the drama for me to see, but you get the idea.
If she's chosen for the trailer though, then there's a better chance for her to be chosen as opposed to if she didn't dub the trailer, but it's not guaranteed (the audios could've been taken straight from the filming, which is what many dramas do. This could be also why the audio isn't perfectly clear and are a bit muffled as opposed to what the audio of a drama should sound like), it depends on quality, image and post-production decisions by the entire team. From what I've seen in interviews, she has a softer and more airy/breathy voice, which could be good for some parts of the drama when she's posing to be a "helpless dancer" trying to get Ji Bozai's attention, but could be harder for her to dub herself when she's back to her true self as badass warrior -- that's just my opinion though, no hate intended, also I don't know her well enough and this is only based on her natural voice (or at least what I've heard of it).
I don't know if it's possible for some parts to be dubbed by herself and other parts to be dubbed by professionals though, cause from what I hear (and from the novel), she posed to be a man for the first half of her life, which would be hard for her to dub herself (it's possible for some parts of that to be glazed over in the drama, but I'm sure it'll still be included as it's pretty important).
I think just wait for the other trailers and promotion to come out first and see, but if she frequently dubs her previous roles that are similar to this role and they've all turned out good, then there's a pretty good chance for her to dub this as well.
This is the kid who acted Ji Bozai as a little child (honestly I can kinda see the resemblance, they both have huge innocent eyes, and some of their other features are also pretty similar, kudos to the makeup and casting team!!): http://xhslink.com/a/7bvNLo5OSkdgb

I really hope that it does, but I'm not too sure about this. The distribution license was obtained today, so there…
Wait, I thought about it and I don't think that it's real, it just doesn't make much sense. The other trailers haven't been posted yet, and there's usually more promotional material (unless they plan to just post everything in a few days...?). I think it might take a bit longer, all the other pages I've checked says July to August, so maybe this person was confused....???
But Idk, I could be wrong. I do wish for this to come out soon, but I don't want them to "cut corners" or skip important parts of the "process" such as promoting it properly. I think that it would be ideal if they space everything out properly and release all the promotion and trailers now, then release the drama late July/August without rushing it. This is what most people are saying that they're doing.
The wait is real, and I'm so glad that LitC is going to air soon. This is probably one of the first dramas in which I was here from pretty much the beginning (I discovered Neo from BFTB, but I wasn't really there until a few days before FoF and the other dramas aired).
This page says that love in the clouds is scheduled to be released on July 8th. Is it possible for it to be released…
I really hope that it does, but I'm not too sure about this. The distribution license was obtained today, so there shouldn't be any other things that needed to be done (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm new to this), it's up to Youku to decide when to release.
This team is very efficient, but I think that everything's done properly since they won't mess up such an anticipated drama like this.
