ok now that i have had a few days to sleep over this but im still not over what they did with heesu and chan young i need to rant. this is mostly about the last episode and the coming out scene because what the hell were the writers thinking??? what sort of message were they trying to send to young gay people coming out of the closet for the first time?!
firstly jcy kept pestering heesu to reveal his secret to him even though heesu kept saying that he needs some time and its not as easy for him. jcy in stead ends up making a public scene and victimises himself in front of everyone by saying he is not that important of a friend to heesu. then when heesu musters up the courage to tell him, to come out for the first time, this guy just runs away.
then instead of apologising to heesu once jcy corners him, makes heesu apologise to him and puts the blame on heesu that since heesu confessed to him so bluntly without any warning he ended up reacting that way. and heesu was on the verge of tears and humiliated when he said sorry to jcy. this scene is borderline homophobic and was extremely triggering, even i wanted to cry hearing jcy's words....
what sort of message is this trying to send to the viewers??? like how is it the gay person's fault for coming out?? what sort of impression will this leave on young ppl still in the closet who are watching this? and on top of that they want us to care about jcy, they give him such an elaborate backstory like why should i care about a guy like that??? he is not even a nice friend to heesu, he only contacts heesu when he has family troubles. throughout the whole heesu ignoring him time he did not ask heesu once what he was upto. and then when everyone keeps calling him selfish he doesn't even take the time to think on that. like he has zero character growth. the fact that they want us to care about this cishet guy is making me insaneeeeeee
