cuteness overload <333 i know its gonna be so fun to binge rewatch, but for now we have to wait another week 😭 also i hope zi xiang learns some sign language too in the coming episodes
ok so in the og the conflict of phun-noh-aim came from the fact that aim and phun were in a romantic and intimate relationship, so he could not just dump her so easily and also he had the exact same relationship with noh so he could not let go of him too, but noh wanted to make phun's problems easier so he tried to distance himself and in stead got together with yuri. but in this version they have changed all of that - noh and yuri are not dating, they actually have very clear boundaries, and aim likes lee but she is in a relationship with phun to maintain her image forced on her by her mom, so there really is no emotional attachment to phun from her side which begs the question over and over again - why the heck did phun take so long to break up with her?! it was so frustrating to watch these past few episodes when i just could not find a reason for phun being that dramatic because the conflict here just does not exist. and we have to blame it on bad writing because if you are changing one thing you have to change the other things too. but after episode 9 i think i get what they were trying to convey, it wasn't done well definitely but i understand their intentions and can make some peace with phun's actions.
so the main conflict here is phun actually likes (or liked) aim. he approached her first, he initiated their relationship and he felt happy throughout the whole time they were together. and then comes noh, makes him question his whole sexuality because the way he feels for noh is how he feels for aim. he has no clue that aim has never liked him romantically so he believes that he can't just break up suddenly with her when he is himself unsure if he really likes noh and if he has stopped liking aim. and while all this is happening earn and noh are very decisive about their feelings and it makes him brave enough to acknowledge that about himself and we get the noh-phun confession scene. but what about aim? he is still unsure if he has stopped liking her because he still cares about her. and then he finds out aim never liked him at all. he has to accept that his first love and first relationship was built on a lie and when he tries to save aim from that car, aim just brushes him to the ground and tells lee that she has no one by her side, when phun was right there and you can see the feeling of betrayal and hurt on his face. and then he is finally like okay its actually over. and he breaks up with aim but he asks noh for some time to get over the breakup (again, it was his first love and first relationship).
this is the only reason i can come up with that even somewhat justifies his behaviours but i think the show fails to portray this well enough and it becomes so frustrating and annoying to watch him sometimes
what the fuck was up with the subtitles today?! Aim said she doesn't like men, she likes girls. why did it translate to "im bi"?!?!?!? she is a LESBIAN (and phun is bi) come on now
the leads have good chemistry, there was real potential here even with the language difference.... alas the writers focused more on the "eccentric" part rather than the romance...... 🧎🏽♀️😭
and its so interesting that the actor was casted in love is like a cat which also has the thai‐korean dual language…
its not that good, but its not that bad. the language difference might be a bit jarring at first but its not as bad as love is like a cat. they have good chemistry as friends, the romance element is just starting right now, so the romantic chemistry is yet to be seen. the plot is a bit absurd with the murder/gym-bro element but i just laugh it off. i still haven't stopped watching and i think i will definitely complete this so its fun to kill time with. and its quite short so might be better for binge watching
