Overall comments about the drama: I went into this drama because I like the genre and because of XZ, but I ended up being invested in the drama, even the side characters and their own stories. I don't really get the hate Ren Min got for her looks, she is pretty and her acting (which should be the most important thing) was really great, especially in the last few episodes. From many comments I saw, here and on other social media platforms, I can see people would have found faults in any actress opposite XZ because a lot of them don't want him to have romantic scenes with women. I find that mentality disturbing to be honest, as this is his job!, but to each their own.
As for the misunderstandings between them, they all made sense to me. This genre will always have the main couple experience misunderstandings and some can be annoying because they don't make sense and it's obvious they are there only to create conflict, but not once did I feel that way with these two. If people don't want any conflict or misunderstandings, they should go and watch children's cartoons, any conflict is resolved within a few minutes in those.
There was chemistry between the leads, which I was pleasantly surprised to see, because at the beginning I was unsure about it. The series did a good job of making this a slow burn to show they are young and inexperienced, but their feelings for each other were lovely and tender.
