Just completed this series. This is one of the most satisfying ending ever. Seriously, the plot, characters, musics, all blend perfectly. Ji Sung never disappoints. The Antagonist played by Uhm Ki Joon did an excellence job. Ha Yeon (Park Jeong Woo's daugther), why is she the cutest girl ever... i cant even act at her age.
Finally.. I've finished this drama. Its such a pain in the as$. Halfway through the series it got too predictable and i sped through to the ending. I literally skipped many parts especially the Rouran Min De arch. Seriously though, I was too invested to not to know the end. Quite disappointed tbh, given how it started and captured my attention.
Nothing original in the series at all. I've seen it too many times. Female lead turned into damsel in distress full mode, gone her resourcefulness and wisdom, always fall for the same tricks. The emperor is literally useless getting fooled all the time. Everyone is getting framed.. and its really getting old. sigh..
Spoiler-
Fate of the couple? similar ending to Empress Ki (no, literally identical lol)
For some reason, I didn't feel anything when watching. Although there are lots of Romeo-Juliet fighting to be together and everyone trying to keep them apart scenes, it didn't spark anything in me BECAUSE it didn't feel BELIEVABLE.
For instances, first few episodes when Wei Young rescues the maids, the 2 ladies already sworn to be her sister forever like wtf. Soo many plot holes, always too convenient for story progression, it didn't feel serious unlike other historical dramas.
One thing kept me going is by skipping redundant parts as well as the chemistry between to 2 leads.
Re-watching value? Never will i waste my time on such drama again.
Wow! What a journey. Just finished my first ever taiga drama and is immensely impressed. The roller coaster of emotions can be felt throughout the series. The acting was impeccable, and the fact that it followed the history very closely, i felt like i was transported back in time and got tag along with them going through life in the warring period. Music is very fitting. Love love love everything about this drama. In short, its perfect.
i think the whole point of this remake is that it isn't exactly the same as the chinese version. the characters…
However, they removed the most important aspect of the story - the female lead knowing the ending of the princes and how she reacted to certain princes and her actions based on her knowledge of the future bore certain consequences. etc.. its the core of the story. Also, they made the female lead here pitiful, silly, reckless, unsuccessful, dumb, naive and whiny instead of intelligent, strong, career concentrated, free spirited type of person that she supposed to be like in BBJX. i dont mind if they change the story of a bit here and there to fit Goryeo setting but the female lead being pitiful? atleast they could have the same traits as that what made her attractive.
"Rou Xi attracted the guys because she was strong, she didn't want to be restrained by the status of females at that time, she was graceful, educated and had mannerism, that's what made her outstanding. So how is Hae Soo attracting the guys? Pitifulness, naivete, dumbfoundedness?" -fuyushita_risou
I'm being objective so don't flame me. I just don't think the drama is as awesome as I anticipated it to be. It's…
The original is soo soo much better. A masterpiece in my mind. Not to mention the characters, especially 4th prince (fitting to be the future king).
i agree with what namopanik said "4th is just not the 4th and it changes the entire power distribution with him being an outcast. If he's just driven by resentment and rejection and not by the desire to protect his team, the story loses its tragic core for me."
One of the best drama in 2017 imo
