Me too...i dont get people bashing her...she seems to genuinely love jae hoon and is trying to win him....he is…
If she genuinely loved and cared about hoon, she would accept the fact that he doesn't have feelings for her and move on. Respecting the other person's decision is the most important thing. That's what mature ppl usually do in such situations. If he changes his mind about her later on, he can pursue her but until then she needs to take a step bk and stop being so desperate. Desperation is never attractive (unless the other person has a thing for it i guess). I don't think ppl would have an issue with her if she was cool about the whole thing tbh.
The difference with the fl, is that she does have feelings for him but is in denial atm. And they do have lots of history (unlike with the sfl). It's not easy to throw away such a long term friendship for romance. But i agree that he should try to move on also. I even think that taking part in the show just cause she asked him to and doing all these things is already too much and she's definitely taking him for granted.
Romcoms love to romanticize several toxic behaviors i guess but irl rejecting someone and having them completely ignore that and stick around only in hopes that u will change your mind (especially when it comes to romance) is pretty messed up and frustrating to say the least.
No means no, Ji-Yeon. It doesn't make you admirable or cute that you're trying to bully Jae-Hoon into a relationship.…
"No means no" This!! I'm tired of romcoms romanticizing the fact that some ppl can't take no for an answer and decide to show zero respect towards the person they're allegedly in love with... It just makes you look pathetic and desperate af.
I've had the same issue with several men in the past, so the gender is irrelevant. Jiyeon should just take the L and move on, like any mature/logical human being would do. It's not like she has history with him anw, she can move on easily if she wants to.
As for Hoon, i wouldn't mind if he found someone else later on (or stayed single w/e). But this is a Kdrama and it looks like the fl also has feelings for him (although she seems to be in denial atm) so they'll probably end up together.
- "It was acute leukemia." Girl's father to Juhee: "My Nara died because of you." Me: Eh??? How far will kdrama writers go to accuse a character of "murder" at this point, in order to cause them trauma...lol
When i saw the word "victims" i HAD to laugh!! Beyond ridiculous!
I agree! They literally approached her, payed her to provide a service to them (marriage) for their own reasons and once they were done they (were supposed to) moved on. As for the relatives always complaining and trying to manipulate their kids and controlling every aspect of their life...it's exhausting to say the least. I might not be a Haejin fan, but i do want him to be free of his family so he can (hopefully) find some peace.
Just curious what other sites besides MDL would you recommend for checking out Korean drama ratings and reviews?
Although it's a streaming site, I'd stay clear from Viki when it comes to reviews/ratings. Perhaps Dramabeans or Asianwiki?! Still not the same as mdl and i don't have an opinion on them since I've only checked them out once or twice.
I rly enjoyed watching it! It was short, sweet and i have no complaints tbh. Which is quite refreshing since i usually end up hate watching most romance kdrama.
Well damn! I rly enjoyed watching this series! Although i do think that Pil Do deserved better, it only makes sense for it to not have a happy end when the theme is about the mob/police/revenge. Also I'm not the kind of person who's looking for "happy end" & "romance" in each kdrama so this is right up my alley. I would've been fine if she didn't make it either in the end tbh. I expected her to die in that room with Moo Jin during the last fight scene. But not complaining with the ending we got. There was lots of action and i didn't rly feel bored at any point. Also kudos to Han So Hee. Since i had only seen her in romance kdrama i wasn't that thrilled but i was curious about how she'd be in this role. She did a good job. Hope i get to see her playing various roles in the future and not decide to limit herself.
Finally... it took me forever to finish this! Tbh, if it wasn't for Seo In Guk i would've dropped it after 1-2 eps. It's not that it was horrible. It's just that i expected it to be better and i felt bored for the most part. I had to skip several scenes, especially in the last few episodes.
In general i don't mind slow paced plots, some of my fav series/movies can be considered too slow by many ppl. But in this case it was just kinda pointless and unbearable imo.
Overall, i guess it can be considered ok by many ppl. Perhaps if it had less episodes, (maybe around 8?) it would've been easier to watch. I'm just glad that I'm done with it after so long.
Ugh...they rly went for the "they-knew/met-each-other-when-they-were-kids" trope for the 466892578999 time in kdrama. I thought we were over it but guess not... One of the most overused tropes ever. Anyway, i'll keep watching for Shin Min Ah, since i don't get to see her act often.

The female characters were also pretty interesting and fun to watch.
For those who want sth kinda chill with some meaning and not sth overexaggerated full of ridiculous clichés (it does have a couple but nothing too extreme) they might like this. Overall it was an easy watch imo. Finished it in only a couple of days, although i avoided watching it til now. For me the pace was normal but for some it might seem kinda slow.
