I don't suppose anybody here has a link to the Kōhaku Uta Gassen special episode.....
Update 1 year later: they uploaded it to Kenshi Yonezu's channel!! It's just a little skit before a live performance of the theme song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8Lqr6NeG5o
Can anyone explain this scene? On the rock where MX (MY) stays in Yaoguang Mountain before, she wrote "一第下天"…
The characters on the wall are meant to be read from right to left which is the way Chinese was read traditionally. So it should be read as "明獻天下第一" which indeed means Ming Xian is the best and explains why JBZ added MX's name to the "end" which is really the start of the sentence.
Everyone is always comparing this with HP. But why? There's no need to compare. We can watch it like a distinct…
It's a bit unrealistic to expect people not to compare when HP is so popular and well-loved. But at the same time, people who use shows' differences as complaints are also unreasonable. They should remember it's a spin-off not a sequel, the production team are different, and the vibes and banter of characters meeting each other the first time won't be anything like the 20+ years of friendship in HP. So I agree that it should be mainly viewed as its own thing. I think discussions are fine but the issue is complaining without considering the context.
They're episode split into parts. Some clips have both the end one ep and start of the next ep which is weird, but it doesn't seem like parts are missing at least in the beginning. I didn't actually finish it so I can't tell you if it's complete.
Echoing the sentiments here that the writing was a bit shoddy esp at the end. Dialogues felt more like monologues at times. Despite that, it was the two leads who kept me going. Loved them together (I have a new appreciation for dimples now) and their love story is so strong and beautiful. Would've definitely liked more couple-y moments from them.
Two questions for y'all: 1) Where can I find the bts videos? I've seen clips but I wanna watch the full vids 2) Any recs for FLs like this one who are confident and not as naive or cutesy? I feel like youth dramas w this kind of FL are rare so pls share if you know any
I'm someone who never gets SLS but already from the 2nd ep, Shin Won has my whole heart. That scene of his first time seeing So Rang and secretly promising her worries away leading to that beautiful shot together by the wall... gahhh it already hurts to imagine what could've been :') As much as I want the king to find his peace and happiness, I'll be quietly rooting for Shin Won from the side.
Happy to see Lusi with WAY as final ML. I saw WAY in Forever Love and he had natural chemistry with the FL, and we know Lusi is master of chemistry so the two of them together will be off the charts. And while watching that drama I wondered when he'd be paired with Lusi one day, didn't think it would come so soon!
Just finished reading the novel in a day, such a light and easy read. Very looking forward to seeing Lu Si and Zhe Yuan bring Zhi Zhi and Jia Xu ge to life. All the bts and promotional pics so far only make me more excited!!!!
I really enjoyed the early episodes during their youth and loved the found family, but now I'm at ep 27 and finding it hard to continue. Ling Xiao's feelings for Jian Jian were obvious from the start, but for her, she expressed so much denial for his feelings and then suddenly he's her boyfriend? It's hard to stomach their romantic scenes right now because we didn't get much transition of her going from seeing him as a brother to a boyfriend. I would have preferred a longer period of him pursuing her after his confession so we can see her slowly realizing her feelings for him, because the brother image is still so strong. But I guess this is supposed to be a family drama and not a romance focused one.
The writers sure know how to write some annoying characters, because I found nearly all the supporting characters infuriating at one point or another. But I powered through because the main leads were just so darn cute together. Their chemistry was natural and their love so pure. If anyone is looking for a light watch, you can probably just skip ahead anytime the main leads aren't on-screen. You won't be missing much.
Pretty laid back, and Seo In Guk's character was really funny. I just wished Yuri's character had a more compelling part, instead of serving just as love interest and nothing more.
L and Jo Bo Ah's acting were kinda awkward, some of the decisions the characters were plain dumb, and nobody in this drama understands rejection. Sorry to the fans of this drama but I just got frustrated with it midway. It's gonna take some motivation to get me to finish it :/
