Oh that sounds very familiar, as long as it is not bingeable my parents would find it boring too, but for some reason my mom was able to bingewatch Story of Yanxi Palace, and Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace (which both have 70+ episodes ??), but I guess that's because she really likes historical dramas as long as there is not much blood
