Title When the Phone Rings Spoiler
omg I agree a hundred percent. The writing was so all over the place, the whole feud between the two families…
I am so glad you agree. Just to add to my comment: I get why Hee Yoo being "worth less" makes sense. At the beginning the Baek's kept mentioning how "gracious" they were to accept her as a stand in and kept hinting that In-a's gonna come back and take her place at some point. Later Candidate Hong even introduced Ina as his Daughter -in-law when the TV crew came along. What was the plan? If they only accepted Hee Yoo because they killed the Hong's son, why would Ina then suddenly be replacing Hee Yoo? LOL - How was that gonna work? :)

Title When the Phone Rings Spoiler
This drama had such a nice built up and storyline and then it just went off the rails. Honestly, it left me more confused than satisfied.
Why did Baek Sa-eon need to punish himself? So he found out that his adoptive Grandpa is actually his bio dad and was also the one who killed Hong-Hee Yoos step brother? How is that his fault? he wasn't even involved? Yes, Hong Hee Yoo wasn't allowed to speak for 20 years. But that's because her mother was too insecure (and crazy) in regards to her own marriage and told her to stay mute to play the pity card. That's on her mother, not on him. And why would he simply not just tell her "babe, I need some time to figure some stuff out. Wait for me"? The whole show is about "what if they talked earlier?"! So why not actually just talk? Also why would chairman Hong ever let one of his daughters marry into the family he knows killed his son in order to burry their own dirty secrets? It's one thing to not "not rock the boat" because of all the investment he would lose, but to then let his beloved daughter marry into that family is just weird. Especially, the part on how they agreed to accept Heeyoo instead of Ina didnt make sense. Basically they said "I know you killed my son. So you will accept my second daughter instead of my first!" Why did they refer to her as a stand it? Furthermore, in the end, why did Hong Hee Yoo's Sister tell her "he is never coming back. he might as well be dead"? Make it make sense!!!! I am not even gonna touch on the whole Argan Story line. I really wanted to love this drama. But the ending made the whole show just messy and off balance.
