I already felt that this is what's going to happen after he left for America. I am pretty sure Shu Yi's dad played a role on why he has to stay longer. From the few seconds that we saw him in ep6, my guess is he doesn't like the fact that his son is in a relationship with another man.
My guess is he stayed there longer than he needed hence the 5-year gap. Cut off his communicate with Shu Yi and came back to Taiwan without anyone else knowing and then eventually Shu Yi found out and now he is running his father's company.
The title even says fighting Mr 2nd— so it's either the two of them are gonna fight because Shu Yi's mad af because Shi De decided it without even trying to fight for their relationship and even gives him the cold stance when obviously he is the one that fell first OR Shu Yi is gonna fight his father to get back back with Shi De.
Either way, I can't wait for the next season!!! The chemistry of them both is too much for my heart to handle
I can't believe that tonight's already the last episode of this drama. I have mixed emotions from it because of the news of the writer being replaced the last minute and how things unfolded on EP15. I can't stop myself from questioning if the appearance of the other counter was actually necessary.
Makes me wonder if season 2 will have the same set of characters. Ughhhh

I already dropped this series because it is hard for me to separate the webtoon from the series. It just breaks my heart. But I must say that Eun Woo's acting did improve a lot!!
I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH!!! I know that this is a remake and I am trying my best to stop myself from even reading the plot of the original as it might make me overthink of how the ending will be for the Korean ver.
