i’m on episode 13 and i just managed to put my finger on something that’s been bugging me since the start. i know Sima Yi is an actual historical figure, but in this drama, this character reminds me terribly of RDJ’s Sherlock Holmes (2009)! even the intelligent but sometimes misguided sidekick, the “villain”, the world takeover schemes, the plot twists and character development… it’s constructed in very much the same way. so far I’m enjoying it.
i have very little time for entertainment right now but…Yang Yang! However I’m only on episode 12 but I’m considering dropping this drama, the sociopath mother and creepy brother are too much for me. I thought it would be a little sweeter of a drama but guess i was off. Do their attitudes/behaviors get better or should i just find something lighter to watch for a while and pick this up again later?
At some point in the last episode you could have told me ALL the characters unwittingly worked for Oracle in some way i wouldn’t have batted an eye lol The two male leads play off each other well, and i liked Situ Yan’s relationship with Zhou Mowan. I’ve seen quite harsh reviews elsewhere, and while i can understand, i think we should take it for what it is : entertainment (from a country with heavy media censure at that). All in all, i enjoyed watching it but i didn’t take it for more than it was.
14 episodes left and nowhere near the Kunlun mountains nor all of the secrets revealed. At least there was some…
Love the Shady Shifu name 😂 i’ve been finding him suspicious since the very beginning, and the more the story progresses, the worst it gets. Fengling is going to be problematic very soon, and i wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up being the worst sibling instead of LYS. I like how they’re trying to make us confuse her ambition to open the Kunlun Mountains with affection for DYQ.
Man the Emperor is one the best Emperors I've ever seen. His acting is incredible and I hope he gets his flowers,…
He really is an emperor you can’t hate, for once. What i also really like is that the Empress and Consort Yue don’t scheme against each other and seem to have an understanding and quite a harmonious relationship. It’s a welcome depart from pretty much every drama in this genre lol. You’re right, the surrounding cast is really very good.
Has anyone else noticed that the recent YAMG episode trailers get english subs real fast on the WeTV youtube channel now? They didn’t even bother with the first 15 trailers or so… I think this drama got a lot of traction at the international level! It’s great, right?
I'm already using VIP on WeTv but it wasn't enough for me so I used Fast track and I looked like stupid while…
Reading your comment i was like, did i write this? But i’m not working in the morning, it’s only 11.30pm and i might just rewatch it all 😬👀. Good luck to you in the morning!
I found there are a lot of romantic moments in this drama, but a lot of comedy as well. I laugh a lot, and Yang Yang really shines with the mischievousness 🤩
The fast track within Indonesia doesn't have English subs does it?
I don’t know about Indonesia but if you use a VPN and chose a server in Thailand, which is what i did, you get English subs on the WeTV app, which should work for a browser window as well. Make sure to close the app/window, connect to the VPN, then reopen it. It works better than just refreshing the page.
I declare that this drama is the hottest and the most perfect drama we ever seen !!!! godammn it !! especially…
I’m 8mins into ep 25 and thanking the cdrama gods they didn’t give Yang Yang another “monk” role. I adore Love O2O but the evolution of the relationship once they’re together is SO not realistic 🤬😭🙄
Okey so just a side note, cause I see a lot of comments about this series being "cliché, but..." : BOY IF YOU…
I feel like 2020 was the year the BL world started to depart from the usual tropes and produced some masterpieces, though some of the Thai industry is holding onto them tightly 😂. Maybe they’ve realized their audience has aged a little as well. If you started your BL journey with, let’s say Addicted (2016) which made quite the international splash, you are now five years older. High school/college stories are a little less interesting than the working world, to which you might relate more.
Pardon the rant...Overall, I liked this series, despite its many flaws. Personally, I liked exploring a character…
Your rant really resonates with me. I felt the finale episode was botched, for a lot of the reasons you mentioned. Like suddenly the writers were “oh damn we only have one episode left let’s pack as much nonsense in it as we can”. It spoiled the series for me, which i had liked a lot up till episode 11/12, despite the obvious flaws.
What's the deal with Keam in a span of 2 mins (19.30-21.30) he was shown to be thinking/crushing on 3 people Jin,…
He was never crushing on his girlfriend in my opinion. I don’t know why he has her, maybe she is a decoy. She seems to believe the relationship is real so maybe they’ve been together a long time and only his feelings have changed?
No it wasn’t the point, it was the result. Had it been the point, Bbomb’s phone would have been working but he wouldn’t have used it/still would have ignored Jin’s attempts to contact him.
Am i the only one who was urging Bbomb to USE HIS COMPUTER to send a message to Jin on FB or something? Since i don’t know how Line works i even googled if you can use from the computer. Dude, there are other ways than the phone if your friends are c*ckcblocking you lol
