Not sure if it's the lack of acting skills or the directing but Choi Si Yeol is so bland to me. It takes more than (fake) tears to convey emotions and I don't feel anything watching him. If I met someone like him irl I'd think he's a sociopath smh
This is one of the worst dramas I've ever watched. They spend so much freaking time on boring business- talk instead of establishing the leads' relationship or like a story?? My brain begged me to stop watching but I ignored it- learn from my mistake and just skip this one! I don't know what chemistry some people are talking about- there is none. And it's not just the main couple that's annoying: The niece has no self-respect whatsoever!
Zhang Jia Hao has insane stage present and charisma. Plus he's a crazy good dancer! They were right when they said he makes you look at him. He should've gotten the Killing Part. On another note: I don't quite remember how it was in season 1 but here I feel like they don't put any emphasis on vocals. That is unless it's that obligatory high note in every song... But apart from that it seems more like a dancing competition to me.
Guys, I'll finish ep 2 and decide if I'm willing to continue this because wtf Dude has a whole ass life in 87 and keeps interfering but tells her to stay put because it could have consequences in the future😐 Also he accepted the Time Machine pretty easily, huh? No questions asked? Okay. And FL recognizes her mother but has no idea what her father looked like? Cameras existed in 87 lmao and she's never seen a picture or video of him? And the way she calls her "Mom" to her face annoyed me so much! But it didn't matter anyways because her mom doesn't think that's concerning or anything. She's like "Sure, follow me along, weird stranger!" Also also: this is a su*cide mission, yes? Did she think this through?
All in all it was alright. I skipped A LOT tho. Couldn't for the love me listen to them rambling on and on and on with no point to it... I loved Tang Jing's character- what a legend! The last episode was meh. I'm glad they didn't end up together.
I'm at ep 3 right now. A couple of thoughts: - I didn't think it'd take so long for her to leave him (or the other way around) - I can't wait for her to lose that ugly ass wig lmao - Though one can feel attraction towards someone who is not right it's a choice to act on it and let the feelings grow. Both her husband and his mistress made that choice and now are playing the victims. Disgusting.
Edit: I loved every moment of FL's mother in the office!!
ep 19: - See it's stuff like this that bothers me: why isn't it enough that FL fights the bad guys and the other ladies hear about it? She already told them in detail that she sees women as equal, why another whole ass speech? That's what I mean, when I say they talk too damn much. - the "jealousy scenes" are too heavy- handed for me. Could be because I still don't feel any real chemistry between the leads, so ML's behavior towards 2ML seems over the top 😕 - poor 2ML is a magnet for fire lmao the way he has the most obvious trauma response whenever he's close to a flame, every single one of his enemies should be very aware of it - The story of FL's master and the princess🥺 I felt more for the two of them than I have (up until now) for the actual leads
Of course very unnatural because she was faking it, that's why male lead was suspecting her and investigated her…
I'd rather have it the other way round lol 6 episodes pretend and 30 tough-ass warrior. Also I don't feel like she's pretending but rather being herself? When I said I find her behavior unnatural I meant for someone with her backstory. I guess I'll find out- if I manage to finish this. I'm at ep 17 now and already feel like skipping a scene or two...
His acting choices (or maybe it was the director's choice) didn't work either. That naive and/or clueless look that was supposed to make him look younger I guess? Felt weird to me.
