As a finnish person I have never encountered finnish person who lives that way, but I know there are some. Not…
A Finn here 🙋‍♀️ agree that very few people live like this through the year but it is a typical summer cottage that you can find in the archipelago and in areas with no infrastructure. Being a nerd I did a bit of googling and found out that interestingly 10% of Finnish people still live in an area that is not connected to the sewer system.

Watching the men struggle is super relatable to me. Basically how I spent all my summers as a child. 😂 My family's summer cottage in the archipelago is exactly the same as the cottage in this show. The only unrealistic part in the show was getting water from the spring lol. Normally we'd just fill the water canisters in the closest town.

There are couple of shelters in the area, I'm sure one atleast have plumbing and electricity where they house…
What makes this show funny to me is that it is 100% accurate. I'm from Finland and my family has a similar summer cottage. No running water, no plumbing, no shower, and no electricity. We do have a sauna so instead of taking a shower we go the sauna (which is wood-fired) and then go swimming in the lake. We have big containers collecting rain water and we use rain water to rinse off after sauna.
