Anyone else notice the major plot hole on episode 25? Couldn't someone else go to Shanghai...? Am I missing something?!
Not a plothole imho. Yes someone else can go to Shanghai instead but if they fail she would regret that she did not get the evidence herself. She spoke to the person on the phone, she knows how difficult that person is and he just told her to meet him in Shanghai next day before he goes overseas same night then basically hung up on her. Cong Rong had to make a choice between "protecting" (her words) the person who matters most or a chance to deliver her first opening statement in court which was to say a only few paragraphs and nothing else, yes a big deal for a rookie but she will have many chances later on so it's not a make or break deal in her career meanwhile the evidence is crucial to clear Shao Qings reputation which will affect the rest of his life and hers.

Rong did not forget her dream of being a lawyer. She just weighed what mattered more- help her loved one survive a life changing crisis or give up a first time to participate in court. She is a paralegal she was only giving the opening statement her boss was the actual lawyer in the trial. There will be more opportunities for her in the future, it wasn't a make or break deal in her career. Meanwhile, if ShaoQing loses, his reputation and career as a doctor is in jeopardy affecting the rest of his life. Rong wanted to get the evidence herself from the person who seemed difficult to deal with based on their phone conversation. It's risky for Shao Qing to get evidence he might make a mistake and fail. Rong was trained at gathering evidence and getting cooperation with witnesses. As for ep26, yeah her reason was a bit off volunteering to be close to him, the writers could have made the reason purely to help, don't know if something was lost in translation but only 2 episodes left so this arc is probably staging the next chapter in their life and of course to prolong the series Lol.

Yeah, I would like Mr Shangguan matched with the female surgeon rather than the other intern girl. Not being greedy, but as long as WS/CR and WR/ZC have a happy ending I'm already very satisfied ;)
