i am not saying they are banned and its not a rumor yes as you said they can appear at any events but prohibited from appearing together as you said it might be decision of their agencies which is because of the pressure from Chinese media board due to their cultural differences and sensitivity as to not create any more issues and it was majorly caused by fan wars

they are ordered to not appear together in any gatherings till 2026 probably coz of a controversy regarding some fanfic after the untamed series which led to ban of a widely popular website ao3 in all of china which led to boycotting of xiao zhan for some months but now all is good but still the ban on appearance of them together in any media is prohibited by Chinese media board

actually after listening the meaning of coda I went on to research on it and found that there is actually a movie in the same name saw the trailer which to my surprise had similar plot as this drama and found out that the parents charectors in the movie are actual deaf actors and the movie was also awarded with academy awards it's so good to see the similarity in the drama and I am very much excited for the upcoming episodes
