I personally really love this drama, even though it's obviously flawed, and have rewatched it three times already. I know a lot of people have problems with the excessive ads, but it doesn't matter to me that much, as I always treat them as ads breaks - where I can go to the bathroom or get snacks - and don't consider them parts of the main storyline anyway (not only in this drama but in any GMMTV shows, not just dramas but also variety/reality shows).
There are some weird script and acting choices that I think is due to the creators trying to keep the Japanese feeling while adding Thai-ness. The characters are not quite like normal Thai teenagers because they're too polite, considerate, but also comical. As a Thai person, I think it feels a little annoying at first, but then it starts to feel really cute and wholesome. (I feel exactly the same way when I watched the Thai adaptation of Cherry Magic - the Japanese-ness feels very strange when combined with Thai language and culture.) I also love other changes, like the whole Cinderella musical thing - those scenes cure my depression!
Overall, I think there are some executive decisions that make this project very difficult to pull off, from the decision to adapt this very not-Thai manga to the high amount of sponsorship. Considering these constraints, I think the actors did their best. I can't imagine anyone in GMMTV portraying Atom and Kongthap in this script better than Fourth and Gemini. I think they actually make these weirdly written characters very charming and refreshing. (I have never seen the Japanese drama though, so I can't compare them to that version - I watched this treating Atom and Kongthap as original characters.)
