So there's currently a block on all chinese wushu and period dramas this summer due to it not aligning with the…
Finally has an air date for 2nd Sept on Zhejiang TV :D

edit: Looks like the fanclubs made a mistake, it seems to only be the extended trailer today, airing is most likely sometime next year >.<

I really enjoyed the first 12 episodes, but I can't find it subbed past that point anywhere.
Yep pretty much, somebody uploads to the chinese portals or straight to youtube, which then just gets put up on Viki. Haha, hopefully they'll get more exposure with time :)

I would think so, they seem to be quite consistent on this project, and the drama itself is real quality too.

I obviously don't speak on behalf of Viki, but I would assume it would make no difference to them what channel it's broadcasted on except for their info section on the drama itself that may pay attention to this kind of detail, very small detail imo.

However, since BoC is a fan channel on there (the majority of c-dramas on their seem to be fan channels), licensing isn't a concern. The only reason I mentioned the broadcasting station above is because it usually affects the quality of the uploads as well as how it is edited, not to mention. the amount of people who will watch and how much exposure it receives. CCTV is a well known main broadcasting station while JSTV is a very small cable channel.

Title Battle of Changsha Spoiler
I really enjoyed the first 12 episodes, but I can't find it subbed past that point anywhere.
I believe the version on Viki is the one that aired on JSTV (the reason why it might say BTV on mdl is because this is what it defaults to if the channel is not listed available in the options), either that or the initial broadcasting channel was unknown at the time I uploaded the info.

The reason the quality isn't very good is because JSTV is a cable channel so the signal is not so good. The one that aired on CCTV is HD 1080i. For better quality videos with subs (btw they're still in the progress of subbing) check out http://www.wallacehuo.info/MinguoSeries/Battle-of-Changsha/Battle-of-Changsha-with/ . (This is his international forum, and I believe it's maybe the same or some of the same people from his intl forum that are working on the project on Viki too). As for PC, I think you'll find a few more eps subbed on Viki as well.

Is this drama out yet? Anyone knows?
I think Ruby Lin has sort of hinted that it may air sometime before the end of this year so maybe in Dec.

The girls at wallace's intl forum weren't planning on subbing the JSTV version because the quality was quite bad I think they just subbed the earlier eps because there was no news of it getting picked up by a bigger station at the time. However now that it's airing on CCTV8 I think they might pick it up again well at least I hope they do, the drama is very underrated. The CCTV version's quality is HD and has extra scenes in it too.

Lol Liu Shi Shi in a Yu Zheng drama? Somehow I don't see that happening any time soon, although she looks pretty…
Liu Shi Shi works for Tangren, Yu Zheng's ultimate rival company, the only way she would take part in this, would be if she left her mother company, which is next to impossible. That and I really wouldn't give Yu Zheng too much credit, he's a great businessman and has a great eye for actors but essentially is a money hungry sleazeball that couldn't care less how many people's works he rips off and 're-makes'.

Wow Tangren is on a roll with sequels, this is getting one as well.
I'm sure cfensi have written about it in Eng somewhere ^^
