I caved and started watching BBJQ, it's not terrible, but I think they could have spent all that money on buying the rights to another Tong Hua novel. Are you going to be watching any time soon? I really not to talk about my frustration with Nicky Wu's hair lol >.<

Yeah, I guess Jang Geun Suk is okay, I liked his earlier projects a lot more. What's your favourite project of his?

lol Guo Jing is naturally a little clumsy I guess, but I think it's one of the charms of his characters. He still has a strong personality despite not being the smartest person around. I guess it sort of says, you really just need to be a nice person on the inside to be somewhat of a hero, trickery and intellect isn't always the way to go. His little bits of innocence are really kind of endearing :)

They did a special, so it seems unlikely but I guess we can still hope for one lol

I prefer when the actors do the stunts in wuxia rather than have the CGI do all the work, besides the CGI never looks realistic enough in it either. Yep, it definitely sticks by the book a lot more, I think there's a subbed version on alodrama where you can watch it.

I know what you mean, instead of the plot taking priority, it's become the actors popularity or something as silly as that, so the plot lacks in several places as a result. It's kind of a shame, because there are so many modern and historical novels being written, yet when they're made into dramas, they're completely changed in order to pander to audiences or fill them with fan service. I think the draggy plots are more noticeable in the modern ones, though, they always add those g?u xuè moments that make you roll your eyes.

Actually I enjoyed RMPW so much, I'm having withdrawal symptoms lol. They were so adorable, and I loved the angst in final special. It was nice watching characters that were consistent throughout the entire run of the drama, and they really did have awesome chemistry. I would be so happy if they did a second season, just so I could see those two again XD

Lol I think you mean 1983, yes it's good, I'm not the biggest wuxia fan, but it feels like wuxia, given the lack of CGI around that time. The OST is amazing! The acting is great, I really like Barbara Yeung's Huang Rong. I guess the only drawback is that I'm personally not used to watching this old stuff, so sometimes it can feel slow to me, I guess I'm just used to a faster pace in dramas.

Lol I have no idea, I didn't even finish the first one I got so bored.

You liked it? lol we must just have very different tastes in the costumes then, but I agree I loved the costumes in Zhen Huan, the colours were much more subtle with a lot of detail, the head pieces were gorgeous too!

Well he has Red Sorghum that should be coming out hopefully this year, have you seen the trailer, it's pretty intense.

Yep Incisive Teacher is the one, it starts off quite cute but I think there's some melodrama towards the end :/

I love the balance between the romance and work in RMPW, the romance feels a lot more sweeter that way, because like real people they do other things apart from moon over each other. Also I'm no business techi, but the explanations for how the technology worked is pretty cool and neatly tied in like you said. Haha I'm so glad you recommended! Thanks :D

I just saw some gifs of him on tumblr from the 3rd instalment of the Gong series, ugh I couldn't get through the first one, but he looks sooooo damn cool in the gifs I saw >.<

Haha he was totally swoon worthy in FPM, like even when that series was dragging and I was done with all the neon outfits they had, I still finished it because of him and Li Ying.

Lol the thing is, that stuff is so bizarre, and ridiculous, people still end up watching because they want to see how bizarre and ridiculous it can get, so his tactic in getting people interested and watching kind of works. There's still a few more underrated production companies that come by sometimes, I mean Zheng Xiao Long is doing pretty well after Zhen Huan, so mainland isn't all that devoid yet. It would be nice to see some of the mainstream popular actors in quality productions though. People like Chen Xiao should be doing better stuff, and I'd love to see Shi Shi in something where she can act her ass off, and show some progress since BBJX. Have you seen the trailer for her drama with Nicky yet? Those two are so cute!

I really want to see Chen Xiao though, he looked ridiculously amazing in the stills I saw. Actually I ended up watching the latest Gong movie today, plot was pretty cheesy and stupid, but I didn't know Zhou Dong Yu was a decent actress, I'm glad she's doing another drama with Chen Xiao now (who was freaking awesome in the movie btw hahaha).

Lol yep I think her name is Chen Zhi Ning, she's done a lot of stuff for Yu Zheng, and I don't think any of it has been good. Oh well, I'm sure there'll be plenty of pretty stuff to ogle lol. The guy is so good at picking great actors but he never seems to have any interest in picking better writers, like sometimes I do wonder what goes on in a head like his, but I figured it probably isn't anything but how to get rich quick haha.

where can i watch this?
I guess because c-dramas just aren't as popular as k-drama's, so they'll sub whatever is more in demand.

If it's any consolation, you aren't missing all that much when it comes to this drama in particular, it's pretty much all your typical c-drama tropes packed into one. The otp here isn't exactly the passionate variety, but more understanding of each other. Bai He's a wet blanket, her two antagonists verge on nonsensical, they're not exactly your 21st century feminist ideals. I'm only watching because of some of the cast, and Zhao Li Ying's wardrobe is kind of cute lol.

You can watch the raws here http://cn.lovetvshow.info/ (mdl won't accept the Chinese characters in the title, so just copy and paste the native title from the right hand side of this page into the search box).

If you're looking for subs, there are none, and it doesn't look to change any time soon either.

Lol I heard they really messed up with Dong Fang Bu Bai, but I like Joe a lot too, so I still want to watch it, I'm still looking for a decent vers of Swordsman to watch before I give the 2013 one a go though. Still can't find one from 90's tvb stuff :/

Lol you're saving yourself by not watching In Love with Power, although I think the writer for YZG is the same for ILWP >.<

That's one of my pet peeves about c-dramas, it's not even 3 episodes a week, but 3 a day! Anyone who has even 1 hour a day is lucky let alone 3 hours, I still don't understand how they get ratings when it all airs and finishes within 2 weeks, other than re-runs.

I think I'm just interested in seeing one of Shi Shi's projects, she hasn't had one released since Xuan Yuan Sword which was way too long ago. I don't have high hopes for YZG either, I've been scarred by Yu Zheng productions far too much, but I guess I'm looking forward to them because they're pretty much the cream of the crop in terms of c-dramas.

It's a bummer they don't spread them out throughout the year instead of piling on the good stuff all in one go, it's so much more fun watching them while they air it's nice to be able to fangirl with the other fangirls at the same time.
