a bit early to tell but the relationships in the novel were more complex and had background lore and connections to the prequel (ancient love poetry) which i liked, however the plot so far here goes much faster than in the novel (there were times when reading where i got a bit bored)

quite good so far on its own but fair warning if you're watching because of the novel: it's only like 10% similar
