Feel-Good Family Drama
A heartwarming and wholesome tale about second chances and making up for regrets. It’s a different kind of rebirth plot, with an estranged older couple reuniting as 18-year-olds in the same high school class as their teenage son.
This is the kind of creative storytelling I like to see in vertical mini-dramas (rather than tired plots that have been rehashed dozens of times). It’s in the same vein as “As Brilliant as Fireworks” (2025) and also shares the same two male leads, Zhang Chi and Wang Yi Lei, alongside Wang Xiao Yi.
Zhang Chi’s ridiculous wig aside, the three leads have great chemistry and their family dynamic is adorable. Definitely a feel-good watch!
Don’t miss season 2, where we get the backstory of the parents’ relationship and a reversal of the plot, where Zhang Chi’s character travels back in time to his parents’ youth in the 1980s. It’s just as sweet and maybe even funnier.
