That one scene between Aeshin and Gu Dong Mae at the apothecary is the most intimate and beautiful scenes I‘ve ever seen. It‘s hands down my favourite in all of kdrama.
The step mom was crazy. No good man was suitable for her.
She was still a way better character than the fl. She's written very well and it's interesting to see such a flawed and complex female character for once, even if she's an antagonist. She was def a fresh breath of air amongst female characters in kdramas.
a guilty pleasure of mine, it's def very dramatic and corny at times, but I loved the insight on the industry and how bad unknown groups have it... and the chemistry between fl and the ceo was crazy, I loved it
I hated everything about this, I hated the ML, I hated how fast the FL got over what ML did to her best friend (I mean dude indirectly caused her death) like homegirl was falling for him while her friends corpse was still warm.. the only likeable character in this shitshow was her brother.
the male lead had insane chemistry with the stepmother, compared to that the chemistry he had with the fl was like when you try to style adidas socks with nike sneakers
I understand why they did two parts marketing wise, but as a watcher, all the excitement and hype that build up while watching the first part kind of died down waiting for the second season. I really hope this splitting kdramas into 2 seasons doesnt become the norm now. It really throws you out of the loop. Part 2 being quite boring, repetitive and very rushed and all over the place didn't really help bring the hype back either... I had such high hopes for this kdrama when I started watching it but the second season really let me down
the humor is so corny and the acting way too over the top sometimes… also, we‘re 3 episodes in and the main leads already started falling for each other (then again, it only has 12 episodes)
Finally this rollercoaster of a show has come to an end. When I tell you a series never had me in this much distress. There was always something happening that you never had a moment to catch your breath and process with all of the content and information you were bombarded with in one episode. And just when you think you finally knows what’s going on, another bitch winds up dead. That damn orchid. I‘ll prolly see that thing in my dreams for a good month or two.
„How many twists and turns do you want in this show?“ Whoever wrote this: „Yes.“ I’ve never been this suspicious and distrusting towards almost every character in a show until the last second of it, like I was always ready to be disappointed and frustrated by everyone and anyone. Speaking of: my man Jong Ho is eligible for a veteran discount and owed a big big apology by every watcher of this show. This man could not fart without someone coming up with a theory about how the sound of his fart was suspicious. At least he was kind of compensated for it by ending up with the woman he desired (congratulations to all the In Kyung x Jong Ho shippers, today you eat well)
My heart goes out to all the In Joo and Choi Do Il shippers. The writers really took the piss out of y‘all, didn’t they. They left you to starve. I didn’t even feel their chemistry as much, but even I expected them to at least hug, but damn… it was crickets.
I disliked In Hye until the very end. She was a brat and overly mean towards her sisters for 80% of the show and her reasons for it don’t make nearly enough sense to justify her behavior. You don’t like your poor sisters doing too much for you, because you‘re afraid you won’t be able to give anything back… so you go and smooch off of the family your sisters are having a fight of life and death with? Why was she so overly sympathetic with those evil people but struggled to empathize with her own sisters? When In Kyung told her that she loves her unconditionally and she basically replied with „I don’t want that love“ like girl……… bffr
The only thing I’m going to say about the villains is this: All this money in the world…… and you can’t just go to therapy???
Anyways, all in all, it was an entertaining series that will def keep you on your feet AND your guard. Some of the character are insufferable, whether because of their stupidity or just by how annoying they are, but you find yourself rooting for the main characters and invested nonetheless. At least I did. The plot twists are never ending, to a point where it feels ridiculous and there are a lot of things that don’t make sense and the ending doesn’t really satisfy you in that aspect. It leaves a lot of characters and plot lines in the dust, so it’s not the best ending by any means, but I’ve definitely seen worse.
As of now, I would rate it a 7.5/10. Totally watchable, but not very outstanding in any of the genres it features.
