I've seen Brain Man and it was really good! There was something intriguing about it and it just kept you thinking.
Heard of the others before but haven't seen them yet, I plan to do so though!
About the 'idol' problem, I think I got an idea where it comes from, at least for some people. The thing is, when a western person hears 'idol' the first thing they'll think is 'singer' and wonder what they're doing acting big roles. However, once you get immersed in the culture a bit you realise the japanese definition of an idol is much more of an all around 'entertainer' - and acting can very much be part of that portfolio. At least that's how I see it. ^^ Though I'm quite the JE fan too so I'm not exactly unbiased, either. (though my love for them did start with drama, so there's that).
Very interesting article :) Even though I'm into jdramas myself - belonging to the crowd who 'migrated' from anime etc - I still found quite a few shows I haven't seen yet and now totally want to check out. Thanks a lot for these great recommendations!!
Though, am I the only one who would be interested in that kind of introduction post for korean dramas? I'm aware they're the most popular ones, but me for example know nothing about them, and though I'm curious, it's hard to know where to start.
