i have not seen the episode yet, but i'm reading the spoilery comments nonetheless and honestly if the genders…
i will always defend my favorite girl, she is so important to me. and ahn eun jin delivers such a great performance, i couldn't imagine someone else playing our gil chae <3. thank you for the encouragement :)))<3

yeah, they want a dummy, lifeless girl. if she was, that would be a problem too because then she'd be too bland lmao. i love my girl gil chae, i would loooove to have an ounce of her confidence. she has a bad day? she just looks at herself in the mirror, girly is her own hype-person! it doesn't reduce the fact that she is resourceful, brave, witty, strategic and cute. at the end of the day, she's just a girl, she wasn't born to survive a war lmao. she's been told she's pretty, so ofc she'll be a lil cocky. i mean, jang hyun is a cocky mf too, but everyone loves him (as do i, i love him very much!), but ppl need to be fair. gil chae is a cool girl, not *just* some flower on a wall, matter of fact, she can be both: cool and a flower. (sorry, i feel quite defensive of her and the drama lmao)
i have not seen the episode yet, but i'm reading the spoilery comments nonetheless and honestly if the genders were reversed the hate would not be half as bad. gil chae as a character gets slandered so much, it's like ppl don't want to see her development :(
it's always the extremely religious and cultist people who are the craziest. They no longer see logic and reasoning…
I’m just not religious. i don’t want to say there isn’t a god and idk if you can pray “wrong” but it just isn’t something i identify with or connect to. :)
I talked about it in comments below. He never said he will be loyal, he said he will make the king good and wise.…
i mean, yes, but it doesn't change the fact that him putting HIS convictions over the family he has to take care now :(... i know that's what these scholars do but it's incredibly frustrating. Eun Ae already had doubts getting married because of what her teachers told her but she went through with it because she loved him (and thanks to Gil Chae talking some sense into her) and I fear she knows that she isn't his priority (at least not top 1) which is so unfair to her.
i'm almost done with episode 8, but i NEED to vent. WHY did Yeon Jun not accept the king's offer, is he an idiot? A coward?? One moment he says he will be loyal and the next he's in jail for 'defamation'. Did he not consider the consequences this will have on his WIFE? and everyone else living in their home? Why is he such a lousy and selfish coward?? If I was Eun Ae I would be so pissed to be married to this rat istg.
I wished they had warned the viewers about trigger warnings (''viewer discretion advised.” or ''This content…
let me try to recall....
ep. 4 - Mo Mi's friend has to deal with an abusive man who beats her up, but he does not rape her ep. 5 - 7 -- no sexual violence but a lot physical fights ep. 7 (just in case) - grandma drugs Mi Mo's soup to take her revenge
it's always the extremely religious and cultist people who are the craziest. They no longer see logic and reasoning…
yeahhhhh this is one reason i myself am not religious. i understand finding comfort in your religion and a sense of cummunity and safety but at the same time god and the church should not be used to justify murder or you crappy loser son's actions like here. this was just indoctrination and a way for his mother to feel less bad because you could tell she felt a little remorse with Mi Mo. not bad enough to let the kid run free though because "god understands" . sure... i always find it interesting when these poeple speak FOR their god like who said you can speak for him and know what he wants?

yes, you are right. the (sexual) violence against women (such as rape and assault) should have been mentioned in a content/trigger warning before the episode starts. Were you able to watch the show regardless, or did you have to stop?

my own netflix says the show is for 16+, but yes, it was a very graphic and violent show. if you're not into gory, blood and all that it can be hard to stomach. I feel like shows needs to put tw/cw in general, it should definitely be more normalized.
Yes, all in all, he was an incredibly flawed character that did terrible things. It's crazy how no one ever found out that it wasn't Mo Mi who killed th first dude, but Joo Oh Nam. Very annoying to be honest. That man was a murderer, creep and rapist, overall just a nasty man whose actions were excused and ignored by his mother :(
i'm on the last epsiode but i gotta say that kim kyung ja is so annoying. she is the real villain here. she's eaten by revenge and on top of that she's a groomer. her son deserved to die for being a creepy rapist.
