I don't see any causes of death explained online.

fakadooo, fighting in a war is not "the whole basis of exemption". <- The reason some are upset is because sports figures, like World Cup or Olympic champions & award-winning classical musicians can get exemptions, not just kids of war veterans.
Who around the world can name those sports players & musicians? No one has popularized SK like BTS.
BTS has spoken at the UN & the White House, met the US president, & received at least 2 awards from the SK president: "They have also placed on the Time 100, in 2019, & are the youngest recipients of the South Korean Order of Cultural Merit. In July 2021, South Korean President Moon Jae-in appointed them Special Presidential Envoy for public diplomacy."
BTS may not have wanted for anyone to be able to hold a lack of career-halting service against them, but
they certainly are 'acknowledged persons of national merit’.

The article above says, Young Kwang’s father fought in the Vietnam war and died when Kim was in the sixth grade."
It looks to me that his father died from unstated causes many years after South Korea's involvement in the Vietnam War and KYK's birth.
Yet he still was " exempted from serving the full term" of his military service.

<-- Besides Kdramas, I'm ARMY and BTS has enough various entertainments, explanation videos, review videos, series (RUN BTS!), Bangtan Bombs, etc., to keep me way busy enough, so I wasn't familiar with Rowoon. But I really appreciated him in DESTINED WITH YOU, and the Drxxxbeans staff recapper and many commenters also greatly applauded "WOWoon" / "RoSwoon".
I will be watching for his other and future works.
I'm not sure why so many out of hand reject "Idol - Actors".
It seems to me that the idols have a lot of training to portray their own particular "role" in the group, and their group's persona to the public, which would include a lot of acting regardless of their feelings, tiredness, health, physical strains, etc.
So, I usually give them the benefit of the doubt, and check out their dramas, if the plot sounds like something that I'm in the mood for.
