They are. But their shipper are known as toxic. Many of people in chinese platforms who said they don't have cp vibes will be insulted by their shipper.
I have watched 7 episodes of it and as a novel reader, I quite disappointed with the script and directing.
1. At least until episode 4, I feel the editing is super choppy and the plot is rushed. The transitions are too rough. They also forget that the novel was a chronological with a clear time setting and they didn't even put a remarks on how many years the drama take a time skip from child actors to teens one.
2. I feel disconnected with the bonding of Mount Qun's squad. When I read the novel I can feel their warmth friendship and they really have deep connection for one another. Not just for Lin Qile. But in the drama so far, Yu Qiao, Cai Fangyuan and Dushang is no more than FL's followers and will only shows up when Lin Qile face some problem related to Jiang Qiaoxi.
3. They downgrade the character setting of Lin Qile and Jiang Qiaoxi too. Novel Lin Qile will not throw rocks to Jiang Qiaoxi and novel Jiang Qiaoxi doesn't say "I don't know her". And it is ridiculous how Lin Qile keep asking why Jiang Qiaoxi did not contact her for the past few years when Jiang Qiaoxi already told her how his mom cut the phone line back then to show how extreme his mom could go to make sure he doesn't reconnect with Lin Qile and friends. At this point, I can not help but to call her a selfish person. She grew up with her parents' love yet still begging (or I should say insist) for the attention from someone like Jiang Qiaoxi who lives under oppression of his parents.

Nowadays, heat index is not a parameter to show a drama being a hit or not. It is yunhe valuation and playback volume. Youku is said to put some water army for the princess royal and I believe this drama will also get it since their yunhe value is lower than any of 10k drama in the platform yet they almost hit 10k.
