I’m an introvert with a soft spot for romantic dramas, forever wandering this site like a treasure hunter in search of my next favourite.
I stick to talking about the dramas I love and quietly skip over the ones I don’t, because what doesn’t work for me might be someone else’s favourite. I’d rather not discourage anyone from giving a story a chance.
My dramaland journey started with K-dramas—they were all I watched for quite some time. But eventually, the stories began to feel a bit familiar, and while searching for something new, I stumbled into the world of J-dramas. It felt like discovering a whole new flavour. K-dramas are like fine dining: polished, emotional, and beautifully presented, while J-dramas feel more like local dining—natural, slice-of-life, full of variety, and often catching me off guard in the best ways. These days, I like to mix it up. Sometimes fine dining is exactly what I crave, and other times the charm of local dining wins me over. Other Asian dramas, however, never quite clicked with me for different reasons, but who knows—maybe someday something new will surprise me.
Why I like a particular drama—now that is one of the greatest mysteries of the universe.
Jokes aside, for me it’s always a blend of a hundred little things. The mood I’m in, the cast’s charm, the magic in the storytelling, or just some unexplainable “click.” The deeper I tumbled into this dramaland rabbit hole, the more I started figuring out my own tastes. These days, I can usually guess what I’ll like… but every now and then, a drama I least expect sneaks in and becomes a new favourite. It’s like food—I have my comfort dishes, but sometimes an unplanned bite changes everything.
That’s all, folks!… Off to my next drama – Evanesco poof
