I don't think that's what they are doing here. I hope not anyway. they also talked about it with the doctor and…
Yeah. The theme is basically, in the novel, that he falls in love with his rapist. Real life highly impossible. If they had treated it with even an ounce of seriousness the topic deserves, it would have had been okay. But looking at the way they always treat such subject (except the effect) it's highly unlikely they will show anything sensible.
“But that’s what actors do — they play roles, even the tough ones 🤷🏽♀️.”
Yeah. But doesn't mean you keep on doing problematic things especially when it's a recurring theme all across the media. The problem lies both ways those who peddle and those who keep on consuming. Once it stops, peddling such things will also stop.
i can't believe this... i thought i was going to see comments about important topics here, like, even if ikuta…
Thank you for your comment. I watch what they call bl shows but I absolutely abhor the implied meaning behind the term and the word yaoi. It makes me really sad to see how a sizeable number of people who watch 'BLs' can be so ignorant about issues except their fetish. I enjoy a My Stubborn as well as 180 degree but cannot stand the likes of tharn type and the worst part is the same people who adore tharn type which is hella problematic, say My Stubborn is only getting ratings because of sex scenes when it has an out and proud gay person and Bi on screen as a couple. The hypocrisy is real. They also find 180 degree or movies such as close-knit, restart after come back boring. It makes me so mad.
What was that? The actors really did a great job as did the director and the writer. Is KBL coming out of its comfort zone and ready to tackle queer relationship as they actually should? I mean the new KBL wave here. Not the old ones which are some of the excellent bl and queer stories that I have seen.
I just gotta put it here. The confrontation scene between Jeoungwu and Jiwon in episode 7 was so perfect!! The angst, the longing, the frustration, the anxiety, the love was perfectly done!! Kudos to the actors for carrying such heavy scenes with aplomb!!
Over the last two years, it's pretty much only been The Day I Loved You and Marahuyo Project that are good. Hopefully…
I so agree with you!! The only Oxin BL I liked was the very first one. After that it just goes down and down the drain. Honestly we have so many amazing Queer stories from Philippines like Gaya Sa pelicula, Marahuyo, Oh Mando, Gameboys etc but.. somehow... My friends don't want to watch Pinoy BLs due to that, thinking all are like those.
What did they change? Can you please tell? You can use the spoiler tag.
Thank you so so much for answering. There's so many things, it looks like they changed. But, I was under the impression that Darin was a guy. The translation I read always referred to Darin as a He/Him. Yeah , I totally know and was confused about Say and Darin shown as potential romance. Say has little Blue and Darin has Toucha. But I loved Mek and Chan too. May be they have low budget to hire all characters or as you say they are pushing those ships on us. I just hope this turns out as good as the novel. It's one of my favorite thai novels. PS. I just realized they did sort of same thing in many series, the most recent example is My Stubborn, there's no GL couple of Penny and June.
I think it will help if you read the novel. It's called Falling in love with a rival/Counterattack as the adaptation.…
Yes I saw that. I hate BLs that romanticise SA and non con. Sadly most have that, especially the earlier ones. CJD and Mame are quite famous for such tropes. I know people love Addicted and TharnType but I honestly couldn't digest both. I will watch them but doesn't mean I will like them.
trigger warning in 1st episode there's SA.also can someone help clarify if there's a translation issue or did…
I think it will help if you read the novel. It's called Falling in love with a rival/Counterattack as the adaptation. I had read it long back and don't remember any SA scene of the friend. As far as I remember it was that he was beaten up and not SA'ed. But yeah there's lot of non con at the start and characters are morally gray especially Cheng. Wu So Wei is just a naive idiot. The earlier adaptation was low budget but was true to the storyline and the chemistry was really good. The actors literally lived the characters. They were also successful in showing how both of them gradually fall for each other. Let's see how this goes.
The last two episodes were badly written. I liked this series for its fast pace, tight screenplay and good acting including the NCs but the last two episodes, especially today's seemed like a badly done patchwork. Please maintain the quality. PS. Sorn's facial hair made me scream with laughter.
This was an entertaining series. Not a masterpiece but good enough. I watched it as standalone inspired by Dakaichi. This will be an unpopular opinion but honestly, let's hope for a better production with better actors next season. People make choices based on what they think is right for them at the time so let's respect it.
