Writing and reading fiction is fun. It doesn’t mean you agree with said fiction. How is nobody understanding…
That's the whole purpose of the disclaimer at the beginning of each episode. The last time I checked, this series is not for kids but for people 15+ and older - at that age, you are able to understand right from wrong. Please, let's stop acting like the writer is supposed to be our moral teacher and stop policing their creativity.
Ok guys, there is no in between anymore, am officailly sold on Xing si and Yongjie couple. I didn't realize I like them this much until I thought Xingsi rejected him in the park scene, I was so dissapointed but then giddy again when I realized he was trolling. They are messy af but I LOVE it to be honest. And!, OMG, Xingsi is such an undercover freak..am in LOVE
Fish upon the Sky is juvenile crap. How many fart jokes do you need? And how is that angry incel lead not just…
lol... people are weird. I think they just shit on many things to prove their non-existent moral superiority when they can just say "Bye...this is not for me"
Same. :PWell, historically, it was Silla who first dreamed of a unified Korean peninsula. It was also Silla that…
Right! If you watch Jumong, you will kinda understand their relations better. Jumong's sons (his wife Seosono's children) left goguryeo after Jumong found his biological son Yuri and made him the crown prince of Goguryeo. His two sons that left Gorguryeo (a country that was created by both Jumong and their mother Seosono) then both split and each established Silla and Baekje.
Of course, there are some deviations from historical facts but it aligns to some extent.
Lol.. i started around that time too i think. I started when I was in Nigeria and didn't even have access to watch online so me and my friends usually contribute money to buy each episode (dvd) that cost 100 naira . Wow.. so many memories am relishing right now.
City hunter was one of the dramas I first watched too along with playful kiss, love rain, Bof, you are beutiful, a man called God, and Jewel in the palace.
I have finished this drama and Madam xue (the old granny) is the real villain here - the worst kind of evil. That person who is evil put act like she is good and claim everything she has done is for the Xue family. She is the real perpetrator of most of the things that went down in the drama including forcing her son to take concubines. I was hoping she stroke out at some point but that didn't happen smh
PS: I cried for the first time in this drama during concubine qin scene. I just couldn't hate her - the woman wasn't evil but she should have just stabbed the old woman for revenge and send her back to her creator together with her unborn child instead of plotting the whole family's downfall which includes innocent people too.
I don't see the issue with this and I don't understand the anger. The RAPE (yes! it was rape!) scene was NOT romanticised. The brother was visibly uncomfortable afterwards and cried. I actually thought he was terrified but it seems it was because he thought he was the one who forced his brother. Anyways, the drama hasn't progressed much so we don't know what the consequences for the brother will be or whethere there will even be any.
I personally like grey characters as i believe life is not black and white, no single thing can define the reasons behind every single one of our emotions or action and things like this happens in real life so I don't know why they shouldn't be showing this in a drama (a f*cking drama! not real life). Like.... what do you all want to watch then? healthy relationships where everything is all good and shiny? There are many toxic things that happens in real life like rape, affair, stealing, murder that they also show in movies and will continue to show whether you like it or not and I feel like if they don't romanticize it, then there is no issue here (and heck! even if they do, that's the writer's choice - you are in charge of discerning what is right or wrong yourself not the writer being your moral teacher and this is the whole purpose of dramas having ratings system and the last time I checked, this was 15+ and I believe if you are that age, you should already know what is right or wrong.) However, I feel like if they romanticize it, I will be uncomfortable too but all I can do as a viewer is to drop it if I don't like it and not give unreasonable request like canceling it because something made me uncomfortable smh.
On the contrary, i DISAGREE with people saying that the scene is not rape because it's clearly rape (this ain't even a "dubious consent" scenerio because he planned that from the very beginning and what consent can a drunk person give!?) The problem here is to NOT recognize a toxic behavior instead of opposing it being shown in a movie. They clearly gave warning and parental advise.
Also, let's always remember that dramas aren't in charge of teaching us morals so chill.
It's such a bad idea to watch a Cdrama while airing because they are notorious for tragic ending :( I know that but I just can't stop myself since this is sooo good.
I thought Koreans don't want to be like China but censoring freedom of artistic expression in a fantasy drama seems otherwise lol. I also don't get the idea of international kdrama watchers being advised to sit this out and not have an opionion in what has to do with a "korean drama." They shouldn't have made korean dramas available internationally and gain from it if they are the only ones who has a right to have a voice in dramas from their country smh. Knetz is becoming more and more absurd
