the parental pressure rly hit hard this ep... but also spent the last part screaming at the screen FOR LOM TO TELL NUEA PLEASE IT TAKES LIKE ONE SENTENCE T-T nuea running away next ep...i hope lom gets a taste of his own medicine
I love the leads and their chemistry I think they're doing a really good job. pak is conveying nuea's obvious…
i feel like they're purposefully giving us the details bit by bit for the suspense and drama (like you mentioned) though i feel like even if lom's mom is loving, there's the possibility that it's because he has met her standards so far (i.e. she likes the perfect child image lom has shown to her) but when it comes down to the truth, it may not be the same. both yiwa and lom's family seem on the richer side and from the discussion of wedding guests, they might care a lot about their reputation and connections so they may not be as accepting of the two's sexuality. there was also that short scene in the trailer of lom arguing with his mom about getting married for her sake.
there's also possibility that its more of a misunderstanding on lom's part (that he would not be accepted) and his mum might be hesitant but would still accept him. this could even bring in the conflict/emotional turmoil of 'he hid this from me for 13 years' with the 'how could you hide it' vs 'it's how scared he was/how much he didn't want to upset me'.
but ultimately i do agree that lom's mum may accept him (or in worst case tolerate him) even if it takes some fights/hesitation.
hope you don't mind my reply XD i'd just love to discuss about theories and the plot :)
i do agree that there's some questionable(?) things going on that i don't agree with e.g. lom's inavsion of personal…
out of the show's context, there's a lot of red flags but within the show i can see the characters and the reasoning behind their action, even if i don't agree with their choices i just feel super duper bad for nuea who prob feels and knows he's doing something wrong but still unable to push his attraction away, esp since he values love and marriage. (out of context this is just so wrong T-T) here, the poor boy is just trying to do his job...the other characters have a full understanding of what's happening but he has like 0 clue. i'm pretty sure according to the trailer and the scenes in the ending song, he might just take a break from the job and run off because of his guilt but i guess we'll have to wait and see.
also personal theory that there's more to lom and yiwa's getting married plan (maybe they want to divorce afterwards or crash the wedding to prove that it doesn't work?) it would make more sense why they wouldn't want to reveal everything to just anyone but i might be over thinking it XD prob isn't easy for them to be closeted ;-; i totally get not being able to be out because you don't want to upset your family:((
i do agree that there's some questionable(?) things going on that i don't agree with e.g. lom's inavsion of personal space (it only works cause nuea is into him too), poor nuea not pushing lom away from kisses, lom's hesitation and back & forth abt not saying anything but still making a move (tho i get why) but like i said in my last comment i dont think the show takes itself too seriously.
i also feel like there's some confusion cause they're only revealing pieces of info for now (and also cause of subs)... especially regarding lom and yiwa's relationship as well as his reason for not revealing. not sure if i understood completely right (and there's some personal theories inside) but i think:
1. lom and yiwa has been pretending to be together for 13 years ( my theory is that they met because of their parents and became friends, knew about each other's sexuality and decided to pretend to be in a relationship to hide it from their families. either that or they met themselves and got to the same agreement)
2. yiwa and marine met 2 years ago. yiwa only told marine about lom and her's fake relationship half a year after they met/started dating and this led to a big fight between them [i hope they show us the fight ngl HAHAHAH im nosy]
3. lom isn't telling nuea because he's protecting yiwa in his own way. yiwa mentioned lom and nuea have only met for about a month, there may not be enough trust. plus whatever these two have is super shaky now, at most they just feel good towards each other and have not essentially confirmed their feelings for each other. not that it makes it right/okay for lom to keep this a secret until they're more stable, but i guess its more from a perspective like 'you can't be telling a secret you've kept for a whole 13 years, to every person you meet and have good feelings with' kind? especially since the secret also affects yiwa who clearly is a dear friend and sibling-like figure to lom
i'm actually enjoying the romcom side of this show a lot (and loving the show in general), i can't really pin point it but the vibes feel right HAHAH the actors are doing a great job so far (esp since it's their first project) and i've been itching for each episode every week T-T
i get the points that people are trying to make, but i hope the show isn't hated so much, i'm pretty sure they went for a more light-hearted direction and isn't taking it so seriously
