She was alive in the future because he saved her in the past... He may did it afterwards but it was still the past so it affected the future! I don't know if it's confusing for you (maybe you're not very familiar with time-travel stories) but I tried my best to come up with a sort of "theory" of what it happening :)
I happen to adore eveything that has to do with time travel! You could say I'm practically a master of the theme by now xD

No, no!! He saved her knowing that she's the one who dies with him in the future! The problem is that if he hadn't saved her she wouldn't be alive to die with him in 2019! I don't think he's that smart because he hasn't realized yet that it's his actions in the present that made the future what it is! It's because he saved her and got close to her that they will be together and die at the same time! Same goes with the wedding! (The following is based only on episode one and the preview for 2 since that's all I've seen)... In the preview for episode 2 he is puzzled and can't figure out what he saw in her and got married to her. I'm guessing he's going to get married to her to find out the reason he was attracted to her which makes the reason they're married that exact thing(his curiosity to know why, I mean)! He's not exactly what I would call wise! But all that is just my speculation! I haven't seen ep 2 yet...

It seems they stopped at episode 8.. :(
