and i felt like i was the one here taking this situation seriously enough to look up the actual facts other than just commenting for the sake of drama.

I continue supporting Bright with all my heart but it's very difficult for me to ignore all of this when the misinformation is spreading like fire even here on MDL and his social media are filled with chinese fans harassing him still, especially after a lot of them found out by now that their translations and cultural context were wrong.

im into some chinese entertainment and ive seem this happening before (just a month or so ago with the untamed star xiao zhan for example) so i know how they can make an artist life the living hell after they get something into their thick skulls and i know they wont rest until he finally bows down to them.

this whole situation is very unfair and i can see it's affecting him and i just feel extremely sorry for him.

first off keep in mind that she was visinting Taiwan when the picture was posted and the comments happenned.

Bright commented in thai that she was "beautiful like a chinese girl" and her only response was "what" which thai fans clarified it's a literal translation from a slang that can mean something like "hmmm" and is used when you tryna act shy/ cute when someone is flirty with you and you dont know what to answer back. She never mentioned the word chinese or taiwanese while replying to Bright.

in the second comment from her friend they ask "which theme?" (meaning "what kind of style you are dressed as in this picture?") and she answered "like a taiwanese girl" (meaning "like the style of a taiwanese girl"), now like i said before she was in Taiwan at the time and thai fans explained that it's a cultural thing for them to say they are like dressed like the style of the place they are visiting, per example, if she was asked that while in italy she would have answered "like a italian girl style".

there was no insulting, direct or hidden political idiology in these comments whatsoever and it was once again all mistranslations and assumptions made by chinese fans who dont know anything about thai language or their culture.

btw notice how a bunch of tweets from that @wearytolove man are filled with the wrong information but have thousands of likes and rts and even after he was corrected he didn't make the courtesy of deleting it to stop the propagation of wrong information, which is exactly what is happening here, on twitter and on weibo. a bunch of badly informed people reproducing the same wrong information and fucking up two people lives.

you talking about thai fans? because the majority of his thai fans are supporting him right now. a support tag towards him was even trending on twitter too while this whole mess was happening.
ortherwise it must be the people that already hated the fact he has a gf for years using the drama to hate on his relationship, cause publicly Bright does nothing but promote 2gether, his music and even Win (and lot of times he's not even on actual business clock when he does it).

the two mentions of wuhan in the tweet is: "the LABORATORY IN WUHAN has more than 1,500 strains of virus..." and "CN claims USA sent the virus to Wuhan." Not once did Sleeplessbkk directly refer to covid19 as "wuhan virus". He did speculate between the lab and the origin of the virus but i can google this phrase or any similar phrase from the whole tweet right now and i will get countless of articles from "respectable news sources" talking and speculating about the same exactly thing.

The tweet has an ignorant and conspiring tone but it was painted in the worst way possible. and this whole drama is based on misinformation and mistranslation and it was blow way out of proportion.

Bright made no mistake whatsoever. he was already an actor before 2gether and his small niche of fans at that time did not care at all about his years old relationship. and after he became a "bl actor" he did try to protect it, reason why he deleted over 200 pics from his ig and havent posted about his gf in ages. but then again it was already commom knowledge anyway.

and bl fans are vultures that use any kind of excuse to dig deeper just to hate on actors' lives no matter what. it's not the first time this happened and it's not gonna be the last one.

also it's very interesting to note that thai fans especially are not attacking bright or his girlfriend this time around (shock!) because they see that he did nothing wrong and that he isnt trying to show off his relationship after the start of the show.

first of all Bright never said he was single. The fan who translated the article about it concluded that the interviewer ASSUMED that Bright was single, but he actually never said he was.

Sarawat, his friends and Green are also freshmen. if you watch the scene where Tine finds out that Sarawat knew Dim and Green were dating, you will notice that Dim says their relationship started at "freshman orientation", which means before the beginning of the semester. and that's how Wat got involved with the band and music club earlier too (but remember that he still had to participate in the music club' special welcoming ceremony [chicken dance, pepero game, etc] with Tine and the other new members too)

idk how or if this will be portrayed in the series but Bright said on twitter that he thinks that Sarawat is gay and Tine is bisexual ("the one who can like both sexes") and i thought it was cool of him to say that?? especially since the vibes i got from his Sarawat was that he was just gay.
(now we just gotta wait to see how Sarawat's friend and ex girl crush from the novel will be introduced in the series...)

but one thing i already had noticed tho with that Sarawat, Earn and Tine interactions in ep7 was that Bright didn't act at all like Sarawat was even a little bit romantically interested in her to justify Tine getting jealous and usually when this kind of plot happens in other gay shows/movies in general i find that the actor do act like there's something more between him and the girl, but that didn't happen here at all in my opinion. like even the way Bright interpreted that "script" part with Earn was different from the way he interpreted it to Tine (the heart eyes, sweeter tone of his voice and body language just werent the same) and i love how i was able to tell the difference. so yay gay Sarawat!!! It was my favorite part of the episode for sure.

yup. unfortunately Win got a lot of hate for being a little bit more muscular and even a little bit taller than Bright in the beginning. reason why he lost a lot of weight. he comments about it in every interview and i always feel bad for him.
and i gotta say that one of the reasons i aesthetically like this couple so much is because neither of them is much taller or muscular than the other (like it was supposed to be in the novel), so Win has always been the perfect casting for me since i first saw the mock trailer. right now tho Win and his Tine is getting a lot of praise from thai fans so im really happy for him!

because the first teaser is just a mock trailer to promote the series to advertisers and fans. and they only start filming the series after they get the feedback from the mock trailer.
some of the criticisms they received from thai fans was that Win was too big to play Tine, Sarawat and Tine wouldn't punch each other, too dramatic, too much emphasis on the girls, etc. so they tried to change that when the filming started for real.

completely obsessed with this series since the first episode!
simple but well executed story, fast paced with no pointless scenes, funny and sweet, and most important to me: good acting! like, i usually want to watch most of the thai bls because the plot interesting me but i can't make it through some of the mains' acting (especially the real popular ones) so i'm really surprised with how these two newcomers in bl (and in general in win's case) can act so naturally!
