You're definitely not the only one. The lack of continuity is jarring - so I guess the barrier wasn't needed,…
Lol I completely agree at this point almost nothing is complete and we’re pretty much at the end and the fact that literally nothing in these last 4 episodes has made any sense is even more concerning if they continue this for S2
I cant be the only person seeing all the out of place things happening . Yes its mad cool that SoMun is getting all these powers but from where, why and how. We get it, hes powerful but this is just becoming a little ridiculous because not only is he powerful but hes the most powerful of all. Sort of over the top esp the whole ‘another yung partner ends up in his body’ why is this happening lol and with Wi gen in Yung explaining how hes a ‘door between yung and the world’ where tf did that come from?
I can clearly see where the new writer has starting adding things and confusing things because whenever they do they always get Wi gen to halfheartedly explain what happened ie. the sticks they used for the barrier and esp after the 2nd yung partner entered his body. Look guys, i wanna be like ‘hell yeah, Mun is badass’ but he always was badass and now theyre just making him into some supreme being or some shit which is taking away from the character traits that everyone adored in so mun in the first place.
Hes a normal high school kid with extraordinary powers and a mission to save the world but on top of that yall expect me to belive that hes going to become invincible and probably even more powerful once S2 rolls around, then what is the point of S2 if hes got every power ever under his belt. Is there even another spirit that can take him on anymore? Dont even get me started on how long they dragged the ji cheong sin spirit on for because this shit got so tired so fast.
Basically, i have no clue how the manga goes but the essence of this show is a kid whose trying to do his best and survive in a world he never expected but now its all about him becoming some godlike super being when that wasnt what we all liked about him in the first place.
Ive watched heaps of dramas but never to this degree have i been such an addict for scenes of the main ship. Legit i will wait an hr just for any interaction with them and because that hr goes by so fast and the end of the episode is nearing i can feel my withdrawal symptoms kick in because i havent seen them together the whole ep. This drama is my drug and im beyond addicted ?
Here to express that my heart exploded when seo jun was comforting ju gyeong as she cried and when he said ‘I’m sorry, whatever I’ve done, I’m sorry’, I’m deceased. This mans is either a player or he’s made his sister cri enough times that he said that on instinct, whatever the case it was too cute and now i dont know if I can even consider suho’s permanently sour face compared to seo jun’s soft expressions when he looks at ju gyeong.
In all honesty, I did appreciate how true to reality the ending of this season was because let’s be real guys, the rich overcome while the rest watch on. I’m still annoyed though, because we legit spent 21 hours of our life watching a show that started and ended at the exact same spot, the only difference being is that at the start there was only one innocent dead person but now there’s seemingly 2 innocent dead people. Weirdly, it didn’t feel like a waste of time because I had fun watching but it does feel like I’ve been cheated as the audience because nothing actually happened.
Just finished ep 10 and I’m extremely annoyed at myself for having any expectations whatsoever. This episode has confirmed what a shitshow this series is and I genuinely am annoyed that I actually looked forward to new episodes 2 weeks ago. To sum it up: Hera is dumb as hell and doesn’t think anything through properly while Min Joon is a unforgivable asshole who I legit cannot muster any sympathy for.
Character development? Apparently this show doesn’t know her.
Here to express my appreciation for my favourite character Yeon Jun, for a second there I thought you were going to annoy the hell out of me but instead, you ended up being my favourite second male lead ever. Honestly, though, I wish we could have second male leads who are half as good as him because not only did he figure out how Eun soo felt quickly and didn't cling to her like gum in hair, he actually helped her live the life she wants to live and he did it all for the sake of her happiness. That's true love in my eyes and he is too underrated so I'm just here to give him the love he deserves
I like it because theres still possibilities after the first 2 eps which means there is a chance that she gets over his ass properly and rediscovers the things she loves as well as loves someone who actually knows what he wants. If she doesn't end up with 2nd lead imma be real sad cause rn I'm hoping this drama actually tries something new instead of the cliches that are over 20 years old now. Jo seung hee, idk who you are but I'm hoping you make this drama refreshing and memorable
when i first read the premise to this show i was really excited cause i thought it was gonna be about a woman who uses unconventional means to get pregnant. It woulda been different and so much better had they given us a female lead that gets pregnant and falls in love at the same time instead of making this romance fueled with undertones of babies and pregnancy. I came into this thinking 'damn, shes badass enough to get herself a baby and snatches a man while shes at it' but nope the whole thing was basically about her love life and the only real baby element was 'the baby' which of course isnt a baby but a magazine. So i guess i ended up coming for a 'unsure woman who falls for a guy that she constantly makes up and breaks up with whilst she writes for a baby mag'. So much potential, but i guess Korea isnt ready for a willing single mother.
I marked this as spoiler but there are no spoilers. its pretty much an essay so if you're bored and wanna read go ahead if not then I hope the spoiler tags allow you to peacefully scroll through without my gigantic essay in the way
Ok so checking through my notifications I ended up back on this page and out of boredom decided to read some other comments. I saw the comment made by @Moe and I have to say that they are spot on. I think that at this point Kim Eun Sook couldn't care less about her writing but she thinks that if she casts the right a -list stars and uses her expensive budget to the fullest then she'll have the audience fooled into believing that this is a perfect drama. What she ends up forgetting is that audiences continue to get smarter and pick things up quickly so this plan will fail in the long run sort of like hwayugi did. Audiences want witty and interesting dramas or at least worthwhile dialogue and they want to see relationships that make sense and progress in a relatively normal way. But no, for Kim Eun Sook all you have to add is a hug scene here, king on white horse shot there and maybe a long staring into each others eyes scene here and BAM, there's your recipe for a killer drama lol. Kim Eun Sook, PLEASE use your massive budget for a drama that is smart and interesting like goblin or mr sunshine but with different themes and character types instead of trying to write crappy knockoffs of your best hits.
Also small side note, I did some research after seeing @KdramaDreamLand comment and I found that 2 of Kim eun sooks previous assistant writers went on to be main writers for the beauty inside and search:www. I loved search:www because it was hilarious, fresh and the characters were so powerful. So maybe its not Kim Eun Sook who produces her massive hits but the assistant writers who come up with great ideas that she markets as her own. If this is true then someone with more talent, please take her place.
This drama has made me finally realise why I find all of Kim Eun sook's dramas incredibly overrated. The leads end up doing things that are very inconsistent with their personalities for the sake of romance and lovey dovey scenes. Don't even get me started on how the male leads always declare their love whether through actions or through words within the first 4 eps and by the 6th ep its all guns blazing for them and they're practically jumping the female lead. The worst inconsistency would definitely have to be the female leads and how their behaviour goes from feigning zero interest in the male lead to suddenly hugging him or doing romantic things with him. Everything in these dramas is done to make girls believe in a nonexistent fairytale but as much as it does that it also expects us to be immature enough to fall for it. Idk I think ill just put all my intelligence aside and watch this with a grain of salt.
If your anything like me and love some pure angst and entertainment in your dramas then this is perfect for you. Even more so, because the female lead is pretty great but she's also very conflicted about loving someone she doesn't really have a right to love whereas the male lead is morally conflicted about loving the female lead but also unable to stop his feelings and this makes for quality viewing.
EEEEKKKKK its so good guys, my fav drama currently and then there's the character of joo wan who im trying to get a gauge on but he always ends up surprising me. Is he an accomplice to murder? Or a second lead that fell for yi young? Or a troubled maestro that had to shitty things to get ahead? Who knows but im pumped to find out.
I can see where some people are coming from by mentioning how hye Yeong is kinda offputting because of his creepy stalkery behavior. I agree, I've never been a fan of the stalker side of kdrama male leads but i think it was the only way he could think of to watch out for the girl he liked without overstepping boundaries ie. The fact she was in a relationship whilst he liked her. He didnt force his feelings on her or burden her with them while she had a bf. It's completely normal and realistic that he didnt interfere with someone else's relationship and thats why i like him even more as a character. I guess I'm an anomaly in the kdrama fandom cause I always end up liking the kind and level headed lead more than the entitled, asshat lead.
Now onto my 'sml' or should I say the sml I hope for, sun oh. First ofall SO disregarded literally 4 different characters feelings just to act upon his own and this was basically because he's selfish ie. Spoiled and entitled rich boi. Hye yeong on the other hand decided to wait for her, albeit not openly, but you could tell that he was determined to let her make her own mind up about the people in her life instead of just butting in and claiming her with a kiss (eeeekkkkk, damn no matter how good looking a character like sun ho is, even I woulda gtfo of there when he asked for a kiss, cause only a real creep would ask after the 3rd encounter).
Anyways, I maintain that hye yeong is a worthy male lead because hes respectful of other people's choices and doesnt hold his feelings to a higher standard than anyone elses even when sun oh is majorly screwing him over you can see that HY just let's sun oh express how he feels whilst HY respects that and doesnt undermine it. I just wish SO did the same for HY cause if he did the bromance in this drama would be exponentially better than these 2 bois fighting over a girl who kinda ain't shit. I mean she can barely decide her own feelings and forfeits her choices to SO whenever hes around. But that's a rant for another day.
